M：Certainly. I love Picasso best who expressed his thoughts through his unique paintings. Oh，
my goodness，he was really a genius.

W：I don’t know how you can eat so much yet never put on any weight，son. I can’t take a bite
without calculating how many calories I am taking.
M：But remember Aunt Louise，Mom? She ate a lot and never gained a pound.

W：I’d love to，but I’m tired. I stayed up till 3：00 this morning to finish my literature essay.

W：It’s our mother’s birthday.
M：Oh，my god. I forgot it. Do you have any plan?
W：Yeah，you know when we were kids，Mom always made us delicious cakes. So I decide to
make a birthday cake for her.
M：Good idea. And I think a bunch of flowers will be better.
W：Sounds great! Let’s start to prepare now. I make the cake and you go to have a look at the
flower shop near our house.
M：OK. I am going now. When I come back，I’ll decorate the room.

W：Henry，I will study abroad in London. Would it be the best to stay in a hotel，to share a flat，
or to stay with a family?
M：It would probably be the best to stay with a family to begin with.
W：You wouldn’t recommend sharing a flat?
M：No，I wouldn’t move into a flat if I were you. You won’t get much studying done in a flat.
You spend half your time cooking and cleaning!
W：How can I find out about families who take in students?
M：There’s a list from the Students’Union and the people there should be able to help you find a
family to stay with.
