It seems that this summer will be a travel season to remembers, especially following the
COVID-stricken summers of 2020 and 2021. Here are some of the destinations around the world
that can offer the joy of travel again this summer.
Singapore
Singapore has one of the world’s smallest population. It is made up of one main island and
over 60 smaller ones off the coast of the Malay Peninsula. Singapore is home to the island of
Pulau Ubin, where a variety of wildlife can be explored.
Dining and drinking options are endless, from the 49 restaurants chosen on the 2021

delicious food.
Panama
The most famous part of this Central American country’s attractions is, of course, the Panama
Canal, which is considered as one of the seven wonders of the modern world. Nature lovers will
enjoy Baru Volcano National Park in the province of Chiriqui. It is praised as the only place in the
world where, on a clear day, you can see the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans at the same time.
New York
As always, the Big Apple is welcoming visitors with new hotels. Opening in midtown
Manhattan last month was the Hard Rock Hotel New York on West 48th Street, which shows
respect for the recording studios and music stores that once lined this street by offering live music
across all public spaces.
Also in midtown, on Fifth Avenue and Fifty-seventh Street, will be the very comfortable
Aman New York. This will feature Italian and Japanese restaurants, a wine library, a jazz club with
live performances and a 24,800-square-foot spa with a 65-foot indoor swimming pool.
Montreal
“Montreal’s summer 2022 festival calendar is full,” says this Quebec city’s website.
Among its festivals will be the Festival Go Velo for people who love cycling, the three-week-
long Montreal Fringe Festival, a firework festival with participation ( 参 与 ) by six world-class
outstanding companies, a jazz festival, a fashion and design festival.

Brody Ridder attends The Academy of Charter Schools in Westminster, Colorado. When he
got his yearbook (学校年刊), he went up to people and asked them to sign his yearbook but most
of them refused. He collected only two or three names from classmates and two notes from his
teachers. So, Brody wrote a yearbook note to himself, “Hope you make some more friends.”
Reading that note broke his mother’s heart. She took a photo of the note and posted it to a
Facebook group for parents at the school. The post made its way to three high schoolers: Simone
Lightfot, Logan South and Joanna Cooper. They spent hours discussing the problem and finding
ways to help. “It’s so fun to have everyone sign the yearbook, but for this kid few people have
signed their names in his yearbook. It’s just heartbreaking,” Lightfoot said. They all started
planning that the next day they were going to sign this kid’s yearbook.
