A Charity Sale
On March 3rd, a charity sale was held on Huaji Square to raise money for people in need and all the
classes took an active part in it.
The sale kicked off at 4 pm with some students performing live on a large stage in the center to get
customers deeply involved in it. And around the stage, students from different classes set up their own
stands, selling second-hand books, fancy hairpins, works of calligraphy, handmade drinks, snacks and so
on, which were sold out in an instant. They even racked their brains to promote their goods, like offering
discounts, playing games, singing and dancing, just to name a few.
Through this successful event, not only did all the participants display their various talents, but they also
became more confident that a better world would be created by their constant and joint efforts.

When I arrived at the station, I went direct into the audition and began my short performance.
Taking a deep breath, I tried to steady my nerves, an inner voice encouraging me, “You can make it.” With
the strong faith, I finished my performance to perfection, which was met with applause from the judges,
Mr. Slaight included. After what seemed like ages, the result was announced—I was invited to join their
new program. Before I had time to celebrate with my family, I was asked to begin my work as soon as
possible. Through the high-energy rehearsals and thorough preparation, I rediscovered a new meaning of
the words “hard work and perfection” and learned to make each performance better than the last.
Para. 2:
Finally came the day of my first public appearance on live TV with my parents at home
watching. Everything was ready and the countdown timer was ticking. For a split second, my mind went
blank. “Three, two, one. Go!” our director bellowed, bringing me back into reality. With the most confident
smile, I warmly greeted the audience. How time flew! One-hour show came to an end, cheers erupting. The
cameras off and the audience leaving, I finally breathed a sigh of relief. And then I flew back home, greeted
with congratulations from my parents, which convinced me that I was doing what exactly I dreamed of and
could do better. Since then, I have dedicated myself to television and received numerous awards. And I am
really grateful to my parents, who always stand by me.
