How to make a good first impression at high school?

High school’s starting soon, and I want to make a good first impression. I’m a little afraid

because I’m short and weigh a bit too much and sometimes people make fun of me for that. Can

anyone give me any advice on how to act during my first weeks, or what kind of clothes to

wear, etc.?

I really suggest being kind and outgoing. It is better to be really social and introduce yourself. You won’t get any

where being shy.

Your weight really doesn’t matter. If you’re really that uncomfortable with it, try working out.

Don’t worry about your weight, and don’t let it get you down. “Those who mind don’t matter, and those who matter

don’t mind.”

Remember that. Concentrate on schoolwork. Be nice, polite, and stay strong. Don’t wear the ‘in’ clothes just

because everybody else does. Wear clothes for YOU. Try babydoll tops and flats; they’re very nice and work for

almost all body types (类型).
