8A Unit3 A day out

第一课时 Welcome to the unit

1. I' m going to exercise.

exercise vt. & vi. 锻炼 ( exercise- exercising) Eg. I need to exercise to keep fit.

exercise n. 锻炼,做操; 练习,习题

锻炼 un. do exercise = do sport

习题,练习题 cn. do some maths exercises

做操 (常用复数) do morning exercises 做早操 do eye exercises 做眼保健操

2. Come on, Hobo. Let' s enjoy ourselves !

①与come 相关的短语:

come on 来吧,赶快,得了吧 come down 崩塌,坍塌 come from 来自

come up with 想出(主意);追上,赶上 come first 第一 come straight towards...朝...径直过来

come true 变为现实

enjoy oneself② 玩得愉快( enjoy-enjoying/enjoys/enjoyed) = have a good time = have fun

enjoy oneself / have a good time / have fun doing sth.

反身代词的用法:主语和宾语一致,宾语用反身代词; 反身代词不能单独作主语。

Eg. My mother and I bought some clothes for ourselves.

I myself can do it. = I can do it myself. = I can do it on my own.

Myself can do it. ( x )

Myself—ourselves himself/ herself/ itself—themselves yourself—yourselves

3. How long is the Golden Gate Bridge? / How wide is the bridge?

① 带有 how 的特殊疑问词:

how long 多长(时间或物体长度) how wide 多宽 how heavy 多重

how tall 多高 how high 多高 how far 多远 how often 多久一次

how soon 多久以后(多用于将来,回答用 in +时间段)

Eg. —How soon will you come back? —In two days.

Eg. —How far is your home from school? —One hour on foot. = One hour' s walk.

wide adj. ② 宽的,宽广的 (wider, widest)

Eg. a wide river

adv. 充分地(表示具体的宽度)

Eg. open your eyes wide

widely adv. 广泛的,普遍地 (表示抽象的程度) Eg. English is widely used in the world.

第二课时 Reading I

1. I' m doing fine.

fine adv. ① 够好,蛮不错 (fine-finer-finest )

adj. (身体) 健康的;美好的 Eg. I' m fine.

How are you doing? = How are you?② 见面询问健康状况,它的回答可以是:

I' m doing fine. / Fine. / Quite well. / Just so-so./ Not so bad./ Can't be worse (糟糕透了).....

How is everything going? / How is your work going? 询问工作状况

2. Mr Wu invited me to join their school trip to the World Park.

invite sb. to do sth. ① 邀请某人做某事 invite sb. to sp. 邀请某人去某地

join their school trip to sp.② 参加他们的学楼....之行

join +组织/ sb.

Eg. join the club/ join us

join in = take part in+活动 Eg. join in the activity

3. The sun was shining in a clear blue sky.

shine vi. ① 照耀，发光 (shine-shone-shone / shining)

shiny. adj. 发亮的,反光的 (shinier-shiniest)

clear adj ② 晴朗的;清晰的 Eg. a clear blue sky

vt.清除;清理 Eg. clear the snow up 把雪清除干净

clearly adv.清晰地 Eg. Could you say it more clearly?

4. There was a lot of traffic on the way and the journey was a little boring.

traffic un. ① 交通, 来往车辆 Eg. too much traffic

on the way (to sp.) ② 在路上 On the way to success 在通往成功的路上

③带有way 的常见短语:

in one's way 挡住某人的路 by the way 顺便说一下 in some ways 在某些方面,在某种程度上

in this way 用这样的方法 this way 请走这边 lose one' s way 迷路 no way 没门

boring adj.④ 乏味的(指事物所具有的特性) Eg. The film is boring.

bored adj.无聊的(指人的感受) be / feel / get bored with sth. 讨厌某物

bored faces 一张张百无聊赖的脸 bear v.忍受

a little happiness = a bit of happiness⑤a little fat = a bit fat = a little bit fat

a little colder = a bit colder = a little bit colder

修饰不可数名词 a little/ a bit of

修饰形容词/副词(比较级/原级) a little/ a bit / a little bit

第三课时 Reading II

1. We finally arrived at the park.

finally adv. ① 最终,最后 = at last = in the end (多用于一般过去时)

Final n.决赛 Eg. get to the final 进人决赛

adj.最终的,最后的 Eg. her final appearance 她最后一次出现

arrive vi. ② 到达

arrive in+大地点 arrive at +小地点

arrive in/at = get to = reach...

Eg. reach the Sports Centre

注意: Please tell me when you reach.(F) Please tell me when you get to.(F)

Please tell me when you arrive. (T)

2. All of us couldn't wait to get off the bus.

can't wait to do sth. ① 迫不及待做某事

can' t stop doing sth. 忍不住做某事

get off② 下车 get on 上车 get on/off the bus get on/off it (T) get it on/off (F) .

③带有off 的常见短语:

Turn off 关掉(一般指电器) fall off ....掉下来 take off 脱下; (飞机) 起飞

let off / set off 使(炸弹等)爆炸 put off 推迟

3. There are models of more than a hundred places of interest from all over the world.

places of interest = interesting places ① 名胜

interest cn. ② 令人感兴趣的人(或事) Eg. His interests include walking and golf.

interest un. 兴趣 Eg. show (great) interest in (doing) sth. = be/ become interested in doing sth.

interested adj.感兴趣的 Eg. keep us interested in English

interesting adj.有趣的 Eg. tell us an interesting story
