8A Unit 2 School life
第一课时 Welcome to the unit
1. What's school like? 学校生活是什么样子的?
like prep.像,类....怎么样 be like / sound like/ look like
侧重外表提问用 What is sth. / sb / like? = What does sth. /sb. look like?
= How does sth. /sb. look? 某人/物是什么样子的?
Eg. What's your house like? = It's big and bright.
侧重个性品质提问用:What's sb. like? 某人是怎样的一一个人?
Eg. What's your friend like? He is helpful.
How do you like...? = What do you think of...? = How do you find... ? ★ 你认为....怎么样?
(用于询问某人的看法)
2. ... ..., but there are fewer advertisements.
few det. & pron.不多的,少数的 ( few-fewer -fewest)
little pron. & det.不多的,少数的( little-less-least)
少(否定意义)少(肯定意义)一些 许多
修饰可数名词 few only a few /very few a few quite a few
修饰不可数名词 little only a little/very little a little quite a little
3. Shall we go together?
① 表示建议的用法的句型:
Shall we do sth. ? / Let's do sth...
What about sth./ doing sth. ? = How about sth. /doing sth. ?
Why not do sth.? = Why don't you/ we/they do sth. ?
Could/ Would/ Will you please do sth. ?
Would you like to do sth. ? / had better (not) do sth.
② 表示同意对方的建议时,可以回答为:
Good idea! / Yes, I'd love to./ No problem./ OK./ I agree with you./ Sure./
Of course./ Couldn't be better.再好不过了。
③ 表示委婉谢绝对方的建议时,可以回答为:
I don't think so./ Sorry, I can't./ I'd love to, but.../ I' m afraid....
第二课时 Reading I
1. Among all my subjects, I like French best.
among prep. .....① 中 ;在三者或以上中分配或选择 Eg. among them
between prep.在(两者)之间;....中间 Eg. between you and me / between classes 课间
like... best = like... most = ... is my favourite. ② 最喜欢......
like... least 最不喜欢.....
France n.③ 法国 French adj. 法国的 French n.法语,法国人
Eg. the French 法国人(总称) a Frenchman 一个法国人 (cn.,pl. Frenchmen) speak French ( 不 可 数 ) a
French city (adj. )
2. Learning foreign languages is fun.
① 动名词在句子中作主语,一般被视作单数。Doing sth. is fun. = It' s fun to do sth.
fun un.② 享乐,乐趣; 有趣的事
Eg. It's great fun to do sth.→感叹句 What great fun it is to do!
Sb has great fun doing sth.→感叹句 What great fun sb. has doing sth. !
fun adj.有趣的(一般只放在名词前作定语) Eg. a fun place

3. During the week, we can borrow more books from the school library.
during prep. ...① 期间
Eg. during his stay in America = when he stayed in America
during the war 在战争期间★ during 后不能跟从句
borrow sth. from sb. ② 向某人借某物
lend sth. To sb. = lend sb. sth. 把某物借给某人( lend-lent-lent) .
某物为代词时,只能用 lend it/them to sb.
keep 是borrow 的延续性动词 Eg. How long can I keep the book?
4. Our team won two games last month.
win vt. & vi.赢得;赢,获胜 (win-won-won / winning) n. winner
Eg. win the football match beat sb. ★ 打败某人
第三课时 Reading
1. Near the end of the week, we discuss the books with our classmates in class.
end n.① 终止;末尾,终点 in the end = finally = at last 最终( 常用于过去时)
at the end of sth. ....的结尾
near the end of sth. 在....快结束的时候
from beginning to end 从头至尾
come to an end (n.) = end (n. )
vi. & vt. 结束 Our school ends earlier than usual.
discuss vt.② 议论,讨论 discuss sth. with sb. = talk about sth. with sb.
un. discussion 讨论 Eg. further discussion 进一步讨论
2. Time seems to go faster when we are reading interesting books.
seem ①linking v. 好像,似乎,看来.
seem+adj.= seem to be+adj. seem to do sth. It seems that-clause...
Eg. She seems to come first in the race. = It seems that she will come first in the race.
fast adj. & adv. ② 快的(地) ,迅速的(地) Eg. a fast car/ run fast
soon adv.很快,不久(侧重时间)
Eg. write to me as soon as possible
3. He often listens carefully to my problems and offers me help.
①listen to/ hear 前者表示动作, 一般用 carefully, closely 等词修饰;后者表示结果,一般用
look for / find well、clearly 等词修饰,无进行时态。
look at / see
offer vt. ② 主动提出,自愿给予
offer sb. sth. = offer sth. to sb. Eg. She often offers me help.
offer to do sth. Eg. He offered to wash the dishes. 他主动提出去洗碟子。
第四课时 Grammar
1.数量的比较
more... than... / fewer... than... / less... than...
many-more-most +可数名词/ much-more-most +不可数名词
few-fewer-fewest +可数名词
little-less-least +不可数名词
Eg. Now children are always complaining that their parents spend less time with them.
现在孩子们一直抱怨父母跟他们呆一起的时间更少了。
I have more money than you, but less happiness.我比你钱多,但是没有你快乐。
