At least 109,265 square (平方) kilometers of forest have burned (烧) in Australia because of
the big fires that kept burning from September 2019 to March 2020. The fires killed at least 29
people and destroyed ( 摧 毁 ) some 2,500 homes. Also, around 1.25 billion animals died in the
fires.
Rachel Ratelle, a girl from the US, saw news of the fires. She felt sad when she watched an
