do you know how to treat this emergency？Here are some suggestions．

Protect Yourself

① Put on gloves or protection suit，if possible．

② Avoid exposing yourself to chemicals．

Flush（冲洗） and Clear Burn Area

① Flush the burn area for at least 20 minutes．

② Make sure the water doesn't flow onto another part of the person's body or onto you．

③ Don't use a strong stream（水流） of water，if possible．

④ As you flush the burn（not before），remove the jewelry or clothes with chemical on

them，unless they're stuck to the person's body．

⑤ Don't try to treat the burn with other chemicals．This could cause a chemical reaction that

worsens the burn．

⑥ Don't put antibiotic ointment（抗生素药膏） on the burn．

Cover a Small Burn Area

You can cover a small burn with dry，sterile gauze（消毒纱布） or clean cloth．

Go to the Doctors as soon as possible

Though we can treat this emergency to some degree，we are not the doctors．So we must see the

doctors for information on treatment．When you go to the doctor，take the chemical container with

you，so the doctor can know something about the chemical from the label．The doctor can help

decide what steps to take next．The sooner you see the doctor，the safer you will be!

When we interviewed what the life was like more than 70 years ago, many old soldiers were full

of tears in their eyes. They told us that they never forgot those days when they were in the army,

during which they lived hard lives but spared no effort to fight against the enemies.

Now in the year of 2015 comes the first great parade (阅兵) in the 21st century. September 3rd is

the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Anti-Fascist War. This day is considered as an important

moment for China, as well as the world. 49 countries from all over the world, including South Korea

and some European countries attended this special occasion.

In preparation for the parade, the soldiers worked hard every day. In order to walk well in the

three hundred meters distance on the Tian'anmen Square, they had to receive extremely strict

training. Each day, they got up early in the morning and started the 10 hours' practice. When a

reporter arrived, it was raining heavily outside, but none of the soldiers stopped training. Nothing

can stop their training, and no one can stop their deep love to their motherland.

The reporter asked, "The training is so hard but why does nobody give up?" "It's the first time for

me to join in such an important ceremony. I consider it a great honor. I must try my best," one of the

participants answered. In fact, everyone takes pride in taking part in this big parade because they

want to show the spirit of Chinese army, the power of Chinese army, as well as the determination of

keeping the world in peace.

Once upon a time， a boy was walking through a wood and he thought he could hear a sad cry．

worked． That was， until he realized that if he were to make the Earth happy then that happiness

would be， in turn， transmitted back to him， through the earth on his arm．

From then on， he set about looking after countryside． He cared for the plants， and he did what

he could to keep the water from being polluted． He encouraged others to do the same． He was so

successful that his arm started to recover its normal color． When the gray had disappeared

completely， he started feeling happy again， and he decided to go and visit the fountain． When

he was still some way from the fountain he could hear the fish singing happily．

Children think other youngsters who wear glasses look smarter and are more honest than those who

don't wear glasses， according to a U．S． study of 80 children． In addition， the researchers

found that children seldom judge peers （同龄人） wearing glasses in terms of appearance．

The study included 42 girls and 38 boys， aged 6to 10． Of those， 30 wore glasses， 34 had at

least one classmate with glasses， and almost two-thirds had at least one parent who wore glasses．

The study participants were shown 24 pairs of pictures of children． The children in each pair of

pictures differed by gender （性别） and race， and each pair of pictures included one child with

glasses and one child without glasses． The children were asked a series of questions about each

pair of photos． About two-thirds said children wearing glasses looked smarter than those without

glasses， and 57 percent said children wearing glasses looked more honest．

These findings may help comfort children as they're fitted for their first pair of glasses， lead author

Jeffrey Walline， an assistant professor of optometry （视力测试法） at Ohio State University，

suggested in a prepared statement． "If the impression of looking smarter will appeal to a child， I
