Bears in the Smokies
The Smokies is one of the largest protected areas where black bears can live in wild, natural surroundings.
They are most energetic during early morning and late evening hours in spring and summer. What deserves a
special mention is that more than 1,500 bears live in the park, which equals a population density( 密度) of nearly
two bears per square mile. If you see a bear, remain watchful.
Abrams Falls
Although Abrams Falls is only 20 feet high, the large volume of water rushing over falls more than makes up
for its lack of height. The long, deep pool at its base is very breathtaking. Due to strong water currents, swimming
in it is extremely dangerous. Don't be the next victim!
Historic Buildings
The Smokies holds one of the best collections of log ( 圆木) buildings. Over 90 historic structures—houses,
