第一节 应用文写作
One possible version:
In order to encourage the students to have a grateful heart, an English speech contest themed
“Learn to be grateful” was organized by our school last Friday.
All the students in the senior grades went to watch it in the school hall. The judges were
made up of 5 experienced English teachers from our school. There were 20 competitors attending
it. They did an excellent job and the top 3 competitors were awarded.
In my view, the contest is really meaningful and instructive. To be grateful is a traditional
virtue of our nation, with which the world will be more harmonious.
第二节 读后续写
Paragraph 1:
Carrying the flowers, Evan rushed home to surprise his mom. “Happy birthday, Mom!” he
cried, running up to her. Stacey was shocked at the huge bouquet. “Where did you get it?” she
asked. When Evan told the whole story, Stacey was delighted and hugged her son closely. Evan
smiled and was about to give her the bouquet when he suddenly noticed the envelope. He pulled it
out and found the money in it. “But I told Mrs. Carter not to pay me! I think this got here by
mistake!” said Evan.
Paragraph 2:
Then, Evan and his mom hurried to return the money to Mrs. Carter. When they reached her
shop and were about to return the money, Mrs. Carter smiled and said, “It’s my pay for Evan. He
did a very good job. Keep it. The flowers are my gift for you.” Stacey was grateful for Mrs.
Carter’s kindness and invited her home for dinner that night to celebrate her birthday together.
From then on, Stacey started to join Evan in helping Mrs. Carter in her shop and they became
friends.
