One possible version:
Dear Steve,
In response to your inquiry about the ―Fashion from Trash‖ competition launched by our school, I'm
glad to share the information with you.
Aimed at arousing the students environmental awareness, the competition was held last month,
lasting a week. It called on all of us students to do our part to protect the earth. We were required to create
wearable fashion out of everyday trash, which would otherwise have ended up in landfills, and show our
creations on the stage.
I think this competition was very meaningful. It improved our confidence by allowing us to show our
work to an audience. More importantly, it helped increase our environmental awareness.
Yours,
Li Hua
One possible version:
He knew he had to act fast before it was too late. Quickly, he covered Christine with his wet shirt and,
with all his strength, picked her up in his arms. Holding his breath, he carried her and rushed to the
broken window in the smoke. Once there, Tim jumped out of the window without hesitation and landed
on the grass with Christine, instantly passing out. Upon receiving the call for help, the firefighters arrived
in a fire engine just a few minutes later, only to find the two teenagers lying on the grass unconscious.
Tim and Christine were hurried to the nearest hospital without any delay.
Roger received an unexpected call from the hospital telling him of Tim’s heroic act. He immediately
drove to the hospital, where the doctors told him Christine would have died if his son hadn’t jumped out
of the window with her in time. Fortunately, both teenagers suffered no major injuries and regained
consciousness. Just then, Christine’s parents arrived. Having learnt about Tims heroic act, they thanked
him again and again. So proud of Jim was Roger that he said to him jokingly, Son, maybe I was wrong.
You are a natural firefighter after all.‖

of classes‖On the last day of classes seniors gather students around the Sycamore...‖可确定答案 C
22. B.根据第三段第二行―Symbolized by a candle flame, the spirit of the Wells connection is passed
from alumni to students, signifying that Wells students give one another throughout their lives‖可知
23. A.根据全文最后一句话―…the senior class takes turns kissing the feet of Minerva, believing she will
bring success and prosperity to all graduating seniors‖可知 A为正确答案
B

30.A. 由第六" which is a reason why the population of many marine top predators continues to

35. B. 根据最后一段中的 but also to recognize that as more complex skills become essential, our society
must fairly educate people to develop them
