This summer holiday witnessed numerous visitors to the “Meet the Chinese Opera” exhibition in the city
museum.
To cultivate citizens’ artistic taste, the museum exhibited many fantastic pictures of different operas, ranging
from Peking Opera, Yangzhou Opera to Kunqu Opera, bringing an audio-visual feast for the art lovers. I enjoyed
every second of the exhibition and was particularly impressed by the Peking Opera Legend of the White Snake, with
which I gained a deeper insight into the Chinese operas and the stories behind.
I sincerely hope that exhibitions of this kind can last longer and more distinguished works can be staged in the
future.

But he remembered there was no pink dress in the laundry basket. Overwhelmed by a surge of confusion, Jeremy
pulled out a few more clothes and checked over each item. As his eyes rested on the red socks, Jeremy was sure that
he had found the answer. His heart missed a beat—he had spoiled his mom’s favorite dress by not washing them
separately! Panic seized Jeremy, leaving him in a sweat. However, he knew he had to face the music. He took a deep
breath to compose himself.
Holding the pink dress, Jeremy dragged himself towards his mom’s bedroom. Hardly had he approached the
bedside when Mom noticed her son’s unease. She sat up, asking him what was wrong. Jeremy held out the pink dress,
stumbling through an explanation. “I know you meant to help,” Mom beamed at Jeremy. Then she held the dress up
before her and said in an approving tone, “I think it looks nice.” At this, Jeremy grinned from ear to ear, giving his
mom a warm hug.
