My favourite hands-on course
In response to the call of nationwide labour education, a series of hands-on courses were launched last term in our
school, ranging from planting vegetables to making handicrafts and repairing home appliances.
Sewing is one of my favourite courses, where I gained a fundamental glimpse of essential life skills such as sewing
a button and knitting a scarf. It was surely a rewarding experience, not only enriching our after-school life but also
helping us form the good habit of labouring.
The hands-on courses have won wide popularity among students. If possible, an exhibition could be held to
demonstrate students’ well-designed works and display their creativity.

bear the freezing weather with worn-out clothes. “Can I give this to Jane as a Christmas gift?”David ventured in
a low voice. Smilingly, I nodded. Seeing David rush into Jane’s house with the scarf in his hand, I felt a burst of
pride. I was happy that both of them received the best gift for Christmas. For Jane—a scarf to keep warm, and for
David—a taste of happiness of giving.

chance to go to the top floor of the museum.
M: Me too. How about going back there during the holidays?

holidays.

I’m reading in his place. I hope you’ve all had a great start to the week! This Monday has started out warm and
sunny, so let’s hope it stays that way. I know we’ve had some strange weather in the last few weeks. We have just
one month of school left before summer break, so make sure you’ve turned in all of your homework. The last day
to turn in an assignment is Friday, May 20th. The last boys’ baseball game will be held at 6:00 pm this Wednesday.
Please show up to support the team! If you’ve had problems using the computers in the library, they should be fixed
by Thursday. We’re sorry for any trouble this may have caused. This evening, the girls’ softball team will be
