I am Li Hua, president of the English Club in our school. I am more than glad to share with you

my understanding of efficient English learning methods and give some helpful advice.

First of all, it is of great importance to know that interest comes first, efficient learning involves a

persevering and enjoyable process. Admittedly, learning methods vary from person to

person.Whichever method you choose, find a workable method that suits you best. Personally, I

strongly recommend that we spare no effort to enrich our vocabulary and improve our reading

comprehension. To achieve this, we can join a study group, read English books or listen to English

programs. In addition, just as the saying goes, practice makes perfect. If you practice English as much

as possible and learn from mistakes, you are sure to be an efficient English learner.

come in? You are not usually so shy. See this beautiful watch, which your uncle has brought for you.”

What a sense of shame Tom now felt! Little Caroline seized his arm, and pulled him into the room.

Inside the room sat the stranger, or rather, his uncle, with his forehead bound up, talking happily with

his father. But he hung down his head and covered his face with his hands. His uncle went up to him,

and kindly taking away his hands, said, “Tom, will you not bid me welcome?”

But stepping back surprisedly, their uncle cried, “Oh! lt’s you!” But when his uncle saw the

puzzled father, he immediately explained that he just met Tom in the street. In a flash, Tom learned that

his uncle was ready to forgive him and forget the injury. But facing such a kind uncle, he couldn’t

conceal his guilt. Having confessed what he had done to his uncle, Tom felt relieved. But his father

would never permit Tom to have the gold watch, nor the beautiful books, which his uncle had brought

for him. His sister Caroline was loaded with presents. Tom was forced to content himself with seeing

her happy. He never forgot this lesson so long as he lived. It cured him entirely of his low and rude

manners.
