warm welcome to you as we have learned that you will be joining us next Wednesday to teach us

English.

Speaking of our class, we are a group of enthusiastic learners who are passionate about

improving our English. While our language ability varies, we are all committed to learning and are

eager to engage in interactive activities. Besides, we are also very interested in learning about

Western culture and personal anecdotes about your experiences. We believe that understanding the

cultural differences can greatly contribute to language acquisition. Last, we hope that you can add

elements of campus life into your lessons, which would make our learning experience more

enjoyable and more meaningful.

Shortly afterwards, there was only one piece left on the plate. Both Andrew and the old beggar

stared at the last slice, their eyes locked in a silent battle of wills. Unbelievably, the old beggar

rushed to get it and he won. Andrew couldn’t bear any more and warned the old beggar that he

shouldn’t take what belonged to him. The old beggar, a bit confused upon hearing that, split the last

slice in half and passed one piece to Andrew with that seemingly unclean hand. Andrew couldn’t

accept this ridiculous sharing and humiliated the old beggar. At the very moment, the waitress went

straight to their table and beyond everyone’s expectation put the same kind of pizza on the table.

Andrew was frozen with surprise.

It was then that Andrew realized he had mistaken the beggar’s pizza for his own. Andrew

seemed to be mute and motionless, just staring at the steaming new pizza. The truth was that Andrew

and the old beggar ordered the very same pizza and the old beggar paid earlier than Andrew.

Following the rule of “first come, first served”, the waitress served the old beggar first. The second

plate came as a bolt from the blue. Feeling the blood rush to his face, he immediately apologized to

the old beggar for his ignorance. He couldn’t wait to ask the old beggar why he liked to share his

pizza with him. The old beggar answered without thinking twice, “Even though I may not have

much, I am happy to share.” Deeply touched by what the beggar said, he happily invited the old

beggar to share his with him.

个方面考查，具体为:

(1) 试题规定的任务的完成情况以及内容要点的完整性。

(2) 所使用词汇和语法结构的准确性、恰当性和多样性。

(3) 上下文的衔接和全文的连贯性。

3. 评分时，应先根据文章的内容和语言初步确定其所属档次，然后以该档次的要求来衡

量、确定或调整档次，最后给分。

4. 评分时还应注意:

(1) 拼写与标点符号是语言准确性的一个方面，评分时，应视其对交际的影响程度予以考

虑。英、美拼写及词汇用法均可接受;

(2) 书写较差以致影响交际的，酌情扣分。
