No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency by Alexander McCall Smith
This is the name of the first book in a series of detective ( 侦探) stories. First came out in 1998, the series is
recommended by the International language school EF Education, which says that funny characters, interesting
stories and simple language make these books great for learners. The stories take place in Botswana, and there are
now more than 20 books in the series.
