Bowhead Whale
In 2007, a harpoon( 鱼 叉 ) head was found in a recently killed bowhead
whale. That brand of harpoon hadn’t been manufactured since 1885－indicating
that the whale survived a whaler’s attack and went on to live for another 130
years.
Dating of the whale revealed that they can live to be over 200 years old,
making them the longest-lived mammal. They remain disease-free until much
