Dear Sir or Madam,
My name is Li Hua, a senior high school student in China. Knowing from your website that a volunteer
English tour guide is wanted in your company, I am writing to apply for the position at the Langzhong Ancient
City in summer.
Here are some of my strengths. To begin with, I can speak English fluently , which allows me to explain the
history and culture of this city to foreigners clearly. More importantly, I am a native who is familiar with the city,
which makes me suitable for the job.
I would be grateful if you could offer me the opportunity to be a volunteer English tour guide. I am looking
forward to your reply at your early convenience.

About 5 minutes later, one of my classmates came up to me and handed me my diary. She explained that I
had left it under my table in class and Alice uncovered my secret by accident. I felt so guilty in my heart when I
thanked the classmate. I realised my misunderstanding. A sense of deep and bitter regret crashed over me as I
thought about Lynn’s sad face. I should not shout wildly at her just now. Guilt was hurting my insides and then I
hurried back to the field in search of Lynn.
Luckily, Lynn was still in the field. She looked very sad. “Lynn?” I said softly as I got close to her. “I’m so
sorry! Please stop being angry with me!” I went on to explain to her and thankfully, Lynn smiled. She said, “It’s
okay. I won’t be mad at you.” As Lynn and I hugged each other warmly, I realised that friendship shouldn't easily
be broken and I promised to love and trust Lynn forever.
