The Changes in My Hometown

In the past, my hometown was very small. People lived a poor life. The houses were old and

small. Pollution was very serious, and there was rubbish everywhere. The traffic was not

convenient, so few visitors came here.

Now great changes have taken place in my hometown. The environment has become more

beautiful. The mountains have turned greener, the rivers clearer and the sky bluer. There are trees,

flowers and grass everywhere. People live a better life. Their houses are large and bright. Many

people have their own cars. Every year, thousands of people from all over the world come to visit

our city.

I’m sure my hometown will become better and better in the future.

过某地并且已经回来”，have gone 意为“去了某地但还未回来”。

2. 学习for,since 和ago 的用法和区别：在现在完成时中，延续性动词和

for、since 引导的一段时间连用，表示从过去某一时间开始并一直延续到现在

的情况；在一般过去时中，短暂性动词和 ago 连用，表示在过去某一具体时

间发生的动作。

A Happy Holiday

My friend Li hua came to visit me on May Day.During the following days I showed him

around the city.We went to the Guangzhou Museum on the morning of May 2.We learned much

about the history of Guangzhou.In the afternoon we climbed the Baiyun Hills.It was really great

fun ！In the evening I took Li Hua to the night zoo in Panyu.It was interesting to see animals at

night.The next day we went to the bookshops to buy books .Though we were very tired in these

two days ,we enjoyed ou rselves very much.
