考点 1：一般过去时

【含义解析】一般过去时表示过去发生的动作或存在的状态。在叙述过去发生的事情，表达过去

的状态、过去的特征、过去的行为等时要用一般过去时，常和表示过去的时间状语

连用,如yesterday, last year，just now, three years ago, in 1998 等,谓语动词要用过去式。

① be 动词的过去式

(1)主语是第一、三人称单数、不可数名词、可数名词单数时，be 动词为 was。比如：I was...;

He/She was...; Tom was...；The air was...。

eg：He was born in America. 他出生于美国。

(2)主语是第二人称或第一、三人称复数或可数名词复数时，be 动词用 were。比如 You/ We

/They were...; Birds were...。

eg：The boys were in the classroom a moment ago.

② 含 be 动词的一般过去时的各种句式

肯定句主语＋was/were＋其他.

The old man was at home last night. 老人昨晚在家。

The students were in the classroom two hours ago.

两小时前学生们在教室里。

否定句主语＋wasn't/weren't＋其他.

The old man was not/wasn't at home last night.

昨晚老人不在家。

The students were not/weren't in the classroom two hours ago.

两小时前学生们不在教室里。

问句

Was/Were＋主语＋其他？其肯

定回答为：Yes, 主语 was/were

否定回答为：No, 主语＋

wasn't/weren't.
