except prep. 除……之外，表示同类事物之间的关系，不能放在句首，其后接名词，代词，副词，介

词短语，动词不定式（短语）。

强调从整体中除去部分，即except 后的部分不包括在整体之内

but 除了多与 no one，nobody，all，who 等连用，其余情况下可与except 换用

except for 除去……之外表示对一个人或事物先进行一个整体评价，再就局部或细节提出看法
