结果状语从句和让步状语从句
一、结果状语从句：
1. 在从句中作结果状语的从句称为结果状语从句，多置于句尾。引导结果状语从句的连词或词组有 so
(that)，so....that...，such...that...等。本模块主要学习 so....that...引导结果状语从句。
2. so... that...意为“如此……以至于……”，其中 so 是副词，其后接形容词或副词，that 引导结果状语从
句。其句型结构可分为以下四种：
①so+ 形容词 / 副词 +that
从句 。如：
He spoke so fast that I couldn’t follow him. 他说得太快，我跟不上他。
His shoes were so dirty that he must brush them. 他的鞋子这么脏，他必须把它们洗一下。
②so+ 形容词 +a/an+ 可数名词单数 +that
从句 。如：
Tom is so clever a boy that he can answer the question. 汤姆很聪明，他能回答这个问题。
Mike is so honest an English boy that we all believe him. 迈克是一个如此诚实的英国男孩，以致于我们都相信他。
③so many/few + 名词 + that
从句 。如：
She made so many mistakes that she didn’t pass the exam. 她犯的错误太多了，以致于她没有通过考试。
Bob has so few friends that he often feels lonely. 鲍勃有如此少的朋友，以致于他经常感到孤单。
④so much/little+ 名词 + that
从句 。如：
He has so much work to do that he can’t come this evening. 他有那么多的工作要做，以致他今晚不能来了。
He has so little money that he can’t buy a new car. 他的钱很少买不起一辆新车。
3. 以“so...that”引导的结果状语从句可以转换成不定式的简单句，即可转换为 “...enough to...”或
“...too...to”句型，但这种转换必须符合下列条件：
① 当主句和从句的主语一致，且 that 从句是肯定句时，可用“enough to do sth.”来转换。如：
He was so clever that he can understand what I said. 他是如此的聪明，他能理解我所说的话。
=He was clever enough to understand what I said. 他是如此的聪明，他能理解我所说的话。
The man is so strong that he can lift the heavy box. 这个男人如此的强壮，以致于他能举起这只沉重箱子。
=The man is strong enough to lift the heavy box. 这个男人如此的强壮，以致于他能举起这只沉重箱子。
② 当主句和从句的主语不一致，且 that 从句是肯定句时，可以用“enough for sb. to do sth.”来替换，但须
注意不定式的宾语要省略。如：
The box is so light that he can carry it. 这个箱子如此轻以至于我可以搬动它。
=The box is light enough for him to carry. 这个箱子如此轻以至于我可以搬动它。
The question is so easy that I can work it out. 这个问题很容易，我们能算出。
=The question is easy enough for me to work out. 这个问题很容易，我们能算出。
③ 当主句和从句的主语一致，且 that 从句是否定句时，可以用“too...to…”来替换。如：
I was so tired that I couldn’t go on with the work. 我太累了，不能继续工作了。
=I was too tired to go on with the work. 我太累了，不能继续工作了。
The girl is so young that she can’t dress herself. 这个女孩太小了，还不能自己穿衣服。
=The girl is too young to dress herself. 这个女孩太小了，还不能自己穿衣服。
④ 当主句和从句的主语不一致，且 that 从句是否定时，如果要用“too...to...”替换“so...that...”，则用介
词for 引出动词不定式的逻辑主语，可以用“too...for sb. to do sth.”来替换，注意不定式的宾语要省略。
如：
It is so hot that we can’t sleep. 天气这么热，我们睡不着。
=It is too hot for us to sleep. 天气这么热，我们睡不着。
The bag is so heavy that she can’t move it. 这个袋子太重了，她搬不动它。
=The bag is too heavy for her to move. 这个袋子太重了，她搬不动它。

【拓展】such... that...引导的结果状语
such... that...意为“如此……以致于……”，其中 such 是形容词，修饰名词，that 引导结果状语从句，其
句型结构可分为以下三种：
①such+a/an+ 形容词 + 单数可数名词 +that
从句 。如：
It is such a heavy box that nobody can move it. 这个盒子太重了没有人能够搬动它。
It’s such an interesting story that everybody likes reading it. 这是一个如此有趣的故事，大家都喜欢读它。
②such+ 形容词 + 不可数名词 +that
从句 。如：
It is such bad weather that we have to stay at home. 天气是如此恶劣，我们不得不呆在家里。
He has made such great progress that the teachers are pleased with him. 他进步得很快，老师们对他感到很满意。
③such+ 形容词 + 复数可数名词 +that
从句 。如：
They are such interesting books that I want to read them once more. 这些书非常有趣，我想再读一遍。
He told us such funny stories that we all laughed. 他对我们讲了那么些有趣的故事，我们全都哈哈大笑。
④ 当单数名词前有形容词时，既可用 so，也可用 such，但不定冠词的位置却有所不同，其句型如下：
“so+形容词＋a/an＋单数可数名词＋that 从句”或“such+a/an+形容词＋单数可数名词＋that 从句”。如：
This is such an important meeting that you should attend it. 这是一次很重要的会议，你一定要参加。
=This is so important a meeting that you should attend it. 这是一次很重要的会议，你一定要参加。
二、让步状语从句
1. 让步状语从句由连词 although 引导，意为“尽管/虽然……，(但是)……”。一般情况下，although 可以
和though 引导的让步状语从句互换使用，但在口语中 though 更为常用，而although 则较为正式。另外
although 语气比though 重，常用以强调让步概念。如：
Although/Though Kevin is alone, he is very happy at first. 尽管凯文独自一人(在家)，但他刚开始还是挺高兴的。
Although/Though it won’t be easy for me, I can look after myself. 虽然这对我来说不容易，我还是可以照顾自己的。
2. 在汉语中“虽然/尽管”与“但是”往往同时使用，但在英语中，although/though 与but 是不能同时使用
的，但是可以与 still(仍然)，yet(然而)等一起使用。如：
I do not often make dinner, but I can cook. 我不经常做饭，但是我会做。
=Although/Though I do not often make dinner, I can cook. 虽然我不经常做饭，但是我会做。
Although/Though he has a lot of money, yet/still he is unhappy. 虽然他有很多钱，但是他并不幸福。
Although/Though it is raining, they still working in the field. 虽然天在下雨，但是他们仍然在地里干活。
3. 用作副词，although 一般不用作副词，而 though 可用作副词，且一般放在句末(不放在句首)，意为“可
是”、“不过”。如：
It’s hard work; I enjoy it though. 工作很辛苦，可是我乐意干。
He is looking fit, though. 但他看起来很健康。// You can count on him, though. 不过你可以指靠他。
4. 用于习语，在 as though(好像，仿佛)，even though=even if (即使，纵然)等固定短语中不能用 although。如：
She closed her eyes as though she were tired. 她闭上眼，仿佛很疲劳似的。
We felt as though we had witnessed the whole thing. 我们感到仿佛目击了整个这件事似的。
He is an honest man, I must say, even though I have opposed him. 尽管我反对过他，我还得说他是一个诚实的人。
Even if/Even though we could afford it, we wouldn’t go abroad for our vocation. 即使我们付得起这笔钱，也不出国度假。
5. 用于倒装，though 位置灵活，可放在句首、句中或句末，较口语化，引导的让步状语从句可用部分倒
装的形式(注意：倒装后位于句首的名词之前不用冠词)，但 although 一般不这样用。如：
Poor though I am, I can afford it. 我虽穷，但这东西还是买得起的。
Child though he was, he did quite well. 他虽是孩子，但干得很好。
It’s hard work; I enjoy it, though. 这份工作很辛苦，但是我喜欢。
Bravely though they fought, they had no chance of winning. 虽然他们打得很勇敢，但还是没有机会获胜。
6. 当让步状语从句指某种假设情况时，通常用 though，而不用 although。如：
Though everybody deserts you, I will not. 即使所有人都抛弃你，我也不会的。
Though all the world were against me, I should still hold to my opinion. 就算全世界都反对我，我还是坚持我的立场。
