Hello Kitty, the cat with no mouth, has become the first cartoon kitty to go to space! Lauren Rojas，a 13-year-

old girl from America came up with the idea for her science project at school.

The inspiration （灵感） came from a television programme Lauren once watched. In the programme ，a

balloon was released(释放) into the sky. She thought she could do the same with her Hello Kitty doll.

Lauren spent about a month building a small silver rocket and a weather balloon by herself. She put the Hello

Kitty doll into the rocket and tied it with the balloon. After testing wind direction and temperature, she set the

balloon free.

After a few minutes ，the balloon rose more than 90 ，000 feet above the ground. It was near outer space.

There ，the air was so thin that the balloon burst. The balloon was 53 times larger than its original size before

bursting open. Hello Kitty's rocket fell back down to Earth with the help of a parachute ( 降落伞)，and landed

safely.

Hello Kitty went along for the ride in the rocket just for fun. "I have liked her ever since I was 6 years old ，"

Lauren told the New York Daily News. " I thought it would be really fun to add a toy inside the rocket. "

Lauren loves carrying out science experiments. This experience sparked( 激发 ) her interest in science even

further.

My name’s Robinson Crusoe and I’m 72 years old now. When I was a young man of 19, I left home for the

sea. I had many adventures and I’d like to tell you about them. I was born in 1632.My two brothers were both older

than me. When I was l8, My father told me to get a job and settle down! But I wanted to go outside to see the

world. My parents were sad about it. They even cried so I stayed at home with them. I tried to forget my dreams,

but I couldn’t. About a year later I went to Hull with some friends. One of them was leaving for London on his

fathers’ ship. “Why don’t you come with us, Robinson?" he said. "There's space for you on the ship." I decided to

go with him and that evening I went on board a ship for the first time. It was lst September 1651.When we sailed

out of Hull, a strong wind started to blow. The ship went up and down, up and down on the waves.

I felt very ill. "I'm going to diel thought as I lay on my bed. The storm got worse during the night. I couldn't

sleep. “please, God" I said. "Don’t let me die! If you let me live! promise to go back home." The weather was better

the following day. There was still a strong wind but the sea was calmer. That night I slept well. The next morning,

the sun was shining and the sea was calm. My friend and I had a drink and I felt very happy. I completely forgot my

promise to God. After a few days of good weather there was another storm. This one was worse than the one

before. I was very afraid. The sailors were too. The captain fired the guns to call for help. Soon some men in a

small boat arrived and saved us. Luckily we all got off the ship just before it went down.
