一．一般现在时、一般过去时、一般将来时和现在进行时

1.一般现在时

(1)表示经常性或习惯性的动作或存在的状态,常与表示频度的时间状语连用。

(2)表示客观事实、普遍真理或科学道理。

(3)用于时间或条件状语从句中,表示将来的动作或状态。

(4)标志词:every day/Monday/month...,sometimes,often,on Sundays 等。

2.一般过去时

(1)表示过去某个时间发生的动作或存在的状态。

(2)表示在过去一段时间内,经常性或习惯性的动作。

(3)标志词:yesterday,last week,an hour ago,the other day,in 1982 等。

3.一般将来时

(1)will/shall(常用于第一人称)+动词原形,表示将要发生的动作或存在的状态。

(2)“be going to+动词原形”表示打算、计划、安排、准备要做某事或表示说话人根据客观迹象推测可

能发生某事。例如:

I am going to watch a football match this afternoon.今天下午我打算去看一场足球赛。

(3)标志词:tomorrow,next week,soon 等。

4.现在进行时

(1)表示现在(指说话人说话时)正在发生的动作。例如:

What are you doing now?你现在在干什么?

(2)表示近一段时间内一直在进行的动作,但说话时动作未必正在进行。例如:

Mr Green is writing another novel.格林先生正在写另一部小说。(说话时未必在写)

(3)标志词:now,at the moment,these days 等,以及放在句首单独使用的 look,listen 等。

过去进行时

1.概念

过去进行时表示在过去的某个时间点或某一段时间内正在发生的动作或存在的状态。常用的时间状语

有this morning，the whole morning，all day yesterday，from nine to ten last night 等。

2.基本句型结构

肯定句：主语＋was/were＋v.-ing＋其他

否定句：主语＋was/were＋not＋v.-ing＋其他

一般疑问句：Was/Were＋主语＋v.-ing＋其他

特殊疑问句：特殊疑问词＋was/were＋主语＋v.-ing＋其他

eg：He was cooking dinner at this time yesterday.昨天这个时候他正在做饭。(肯定句)

He wasn’t cooking dinner at this time yesterday.昨天这个时候他没在做饭。(否定句)

Was he cooking dinner at this time yesterday？昨天这个时候他在做饭吗？(一般疑问句)

What was he doing at this time yesterday？昨天这个时候他在做什么？(特殊疑问句)

过去进行时还可以和 when，while 或as 引导的过去时间状语从句连用构成复合句。

1.when 所引导的时间状语从句既可以指时间点，也可指时间段；while 所引导的时间状语从句只指时间段。

因此，在 when 引导的时间状语从句中，动词可以是终止性动词，也可以是延续性动词；而在 while 引导的

从句中，动词必须是延续性动词。

eg：They arrived while we were having dinner.＝They arrived when we were having dinner.

我们正吃着晚饭时他们到了。

2.由when 引导的时间状语从句，如果主句用过去进行时，从句应该用一般过去时，表示一个动作正在进行

的时候，另一个动作(突然)发生了，强调后一动作发生的突然性。

eg：We were talking when the teacher came in.我们正在说话，(突然)老师进来了。

While we were talking，the teacher came in.当我们正在说话的时候，老师进来了。(该句只表示老师

进来的事实，不强调突然性)

3.当从句和主句的动作都是延续性的或同时发生时，即两句都用过去进行时的时候多用 while 引导。

eg：They were singing while we were dancing.他们在唱歌，我们在跳舞。

—Sorry, I ________with the manager in the meeting room at that time.
