1．pair / piece
【拓展精析】
pair 是名词，“(相关的)两个人，一对”。常见短语有 in pairs(成双的，成对的)。在英语中，由两个完全相
同的部分组成的物品，常用 a pair of(一双/副/把/条……)来表示其数量。如：剪刀，球拍，袜子，裤子，眼
镜，手套等。当 pair of 修饰名词作句子的主语时，由 pair 的数决定谓语的单复数。

2．advice

advice 是不可数名词“建议，意见”。常用 piece(s) of 或some 表示 advice 的数量。
常见短语有：give sb. some advice/give some advice to sb. 向某人提一些建议；ask for advice 征求意见；
follow/take sb.'s advice 接受某人的建议。advise 是advice 的动词形式。advise sb. (not) to do sth.意为“建议某
人(不要)做某事”；advise (doing) sth.“建议做某事”。注意：suggestion 是可数名词“建议”。其动词为
suggest。其用语有：① suggest＋n./pron.＋doing. suggest sth. to sb.“② 向某人建议某事”③ suggest＋that 从句，
从句常用“主语(＋should)＋动词原形”。

agree with 意为“同意某人的意见”，后接表示人或意见的词语。

4．population
【拓展精析】
population 是集体名词，没有复数形式。当做主语表示整体概念时，其后的谓语动词用单数形式。但当
population 前有分数、百分数等修饰词时，谓语动词用复数形式。
指人口多少时，一般用 large 或small 来表示。

提问“有多少人口”，用特殊疑问词 what 或how large，而不是用 how many 或how much。

形容词、副词的比较级用来比较两个人或物。
比较级的结构：在单音节或双音节形容词的词尾加er，在部分双音节、三音节或三音节以上的形容词前加
more，通常在形容词后加 than。
比较级前面可以用 even(更加)，much(……得多)，far(……得多)，a little(……一点儿)，a bit(一点儿)，a
great deal(大量)，a lot(大量)，still(还，还要)等词语表示不定程度或数量。

forget 与leave 都有“遗忘”之意，但二者不能互换。
(1)forget 指忘记一件具体的东西(其后没有具体的地点)；忘记做某事。
(2)leave 指把东西忘(落)在了某地，后应接具体的地点。即leave sth.sw.。
(3)特别提醒：forget/remember to do sth.“忘记/记得干……(还没干)”；forget/remember doing sth.忘记了/记起
来做过某事(已做了)。
