阅读下面短文，根据短文内容完成表格中所缺信息，每空一词。
Everybody wants to learn English well but many find it not easy. I'm here to share my ideas about learning
English with you.
For some students to remember new words is difficult. In fact, words always come along with sentences, so
you can understand words in sentences. And you'd better review them now and then, or you will forget them easily.
When reading, I like to write some special and important phrases down in the notebook to remember them
well and use them in my reading, Studying by using is a good way to learn English.
After class, I go to the library sometimes. There are many books, newspapers and magazines in Title: Buying
presents for Chris's in English. I usually read some of them for a long time there. It helps me a lot with my reading.
At school, at the weekend, I go to the English club to talk with other students in English. I'm trying to improve
my oral English in this way.
Do you know-CCTV-10? I think it is meaningful to watch it when it’s possible. I like the programme called
Outlook best. In it, some teachers or scholars(学者) talk about helpful learning skills.
We still have so much to learn about English. Never give up, and you’ll succeed one day.
My ideas about 1 English

Have you heard about “Survival (生存) Holidays”? “Survival Holidays” is for children to go into the lonely place
for exciting activities(活动). Now about 1,100 companies(公司) are asked to take children into the great outdoors
without their parents.
The reason why people like “Survival Holidays” is that they think being close to nature is good for children.
Many children in big cities spend all time watching TV and playing computer games. “Survival Holidays” gives
them an important change.
Is “Survival Holidays” a wonderful idea? Maybe it is. Children need more free time to play. They need to be left
on their own, without adults disturbing (打扰) them. Parents care too much about their children. They like to see
the children being busy with activities that are controlled ( 支 配 ) by adults, but children don’t know what to do
when they are in danger. Even something like crossing a small river seems to be a hard challenge ( 挑战). Children
are not comfortable with danger. Even small danger like getting their feet wet or falling down seems very terrible to
them.
Many people think the survival activities are good for children. Even years later, they will still remember what
they have learned. Some have learned to stay calm in different times. Some have learned how to keep safe. Others
have learned how to work in a team. All these skills will help them a lot in their lives.

Nowadays in school life, a lot of students develop a fear of tests. Most students are afraid of tests mainly because

they don’t have enough self-confidence and they don’t always think they are well prepared. If you follow the tips
below, it’s not difficult to overcome(克服)your fear of tests.
People who know that they are not well-prepared are usually those who fear test most. However, most students
don’t know when they are truly prepared for a test. As long as （只要） you know that you have studied well and
long enough, you would believe that you are well-prepared.
Be confident about yourself. Confidence before a test can bring about two things: either you fail the test and
feel as if your confidence was unfounded( 毫 无 根 据 )or you could get success in the test because of your
confidence. As long as you have studied hard, you will be more confident of your chance to succeed in a test.
Ask your teacher in advance（提前）about the material that is going to be covered in the test. In this way,
you will know what you should prepare for and you can get confidence in the test. But you have to be brave enough
to ask. Most students do not ask unless their teacher gives the information first.
You should know that tests are only telling if you have got the knowledge, not how good or bad your IQ is.
Fear can be a problem in the process of achieving success. However, with the right attitude( 态度) and preparations,
you can overcome your fear of tests by using these tips.
