一、重点单词

1. favorite adj. 特别喜爱的

教材原句：My favorite subject is science. (p49-title)

【重点知识】

1）favorite 用作形容词时，意为“最喜欢的，特别喜欢的”，可在句中作定语修饰名词。

注意：favorite 与like 都有“喜爱”的意思，但它们的词性不同，在句子中所处的位置也不同，

favorite 常与 like…best 互换使用。例如：

His favorite sport is basketball. = He likes basketball best. 他最喜欢篮球。

2）favorite 用作名词时，意为“特别喜欢的人或物”，是可数名词，如：

These movies are my favorites. 这些电影时我最喜欢的。

2. subject n. 学科；科目

教材原句：My favorite subject is science. (p49-title)

【重点知识】

1) subject 的意思是“学科，科目”

English is my favorite subject. 英语是我最喜爱的学科。

初中常见的学科名称有：Chinese(语文)；math(数学)；English(英语)；physics(物理)；

chemistry(化学)；politics(政治)；history(历史)；geography(地理)；biology(生物)；music(音乐)；

art(美术)；P.E.(体育)；science(科学)

2) subject 还有”主题”的意思

3. science n. 科学

1) science 科学

2) scientific adj. 科学的 scientist n. 科学家

4. Chinese n. 语文

教材原句：My favorite subject is Chinese. (p49-1a)

【重点知识】

记住 Chinese 的首字母一定要大写。它可用作名词，也可用作形容词。

1）用作名词时，除了”语文”意思之外，还可以指“中国人”，单复数相同。

They are Chinese.他们是中国人

2）作形容词，This is the Chinese national flag.这是中国国旗。

5. because conj. 因为

教材原句：I like Monday because I have P.E. And history. (p50-2d)

【重点知识】

1)because“因为”。表示理由，后接从句，可用来回答用由 why 引导的问句

---Why do you like dogs?

---Because they are cute.

2)汉语中的“因为……所以”，常常连用，但英语中不可以说成“because...so”,只能用其一

6. free adj. 空闲的

教材原句：fun free (p52-1a)

【重点知识】

1）同根词：freedom n.自由

2）短语：for free 免费

feel free to do sth. 表“随意的，任意的”做某事

in one’s free time 在某人的空闲时间

3) free 还有”免费的”意思

All the things here are free. You can take them without money.

7. useful adj. 有用的

教材原句：The teacher says it is useful, but I think it is difficult. (p53-2b)

【重点知识】

1）useful 是形容词，意思是“有用的；有益的”。它的反义词是 useless。如：

Can I do anything to make myself useful? 我能帮上什么忙吗？

This is a useless knife，the handle has broken! 这是把没用的小刀，刀把坏了。

2）useful 是由“名词 use＋形容词后缀 ful”构成的。“名词＋形容词后缀 ful”可构成形容词。

help＋ful= helpful 有帮助的，

care＋ful= careful 小心的；仔细的，

beauty＋ful= beautiful 美丽的

hope＋ful= hopeful 有希望的，

thank＋ful= thankful 感谢的

3）use 既是动词又是名词

8. finish v. 完成；做好

教材原句：My classes finish at 1:50. (P53-2b)

【重点知识】

finish 后加动词 ing 形式

When you finish doing your homework, you can play.

9. lesson n. 课；一节课

教材原句：I have an art lesson for two hours. (p53-2b)

【重点知识】

1）注意和数词连用时的区别，如：Lesson One= the first lesson。

2）还有“教训”的意思，可数名词。常见短语：teach sb. a lesson 给某人一个教训

10. hour n. 小时

教材原句：I have an art lesson for two hours. (p53-2b)

【重点知识】

1)注意 hour 的读音，在单词中 h不发音，因此前面要用 an,而不能用 a

2)常用搭配：half an hour 半小时；hour by/after hour 一个小时接着一个小时

【重点知识】

“魔鬼动词”have 有“有，吃，喝，上课，进行”等多义。

1）当 have+三餐的名词，意为“用餐”。如：have breakfast/ lunch/ supper 吃早饭/午饭/晚饭

2) have+ 食品饮料名词，意为“吃，喝……”如：have some noodles 吃面条/ have milk 喝牛奶

3) have+动作名词，常与表示动作的名词同义。如：have a look 看一看/ have a rest 休息.

4）have+活动名词,意为“进行，举行”。如：have a birthday party 举行生日聚会

2. be interesting 有趣

教材原句：I think history is interesting. (p50-2d)

【重点知识】

1）interest → interesting → interested

interest 作名词时，意为“兴趣，趣味”；作动词时，意为“使……感兴趣”；

常见短语 have / take（an）interest in sth.

I have no interest in this game.我对这个游戏没有兴趣。

2) interesting 和interested 都有形容词的用法。

interesting 意为“有趣的”,修饰“事/物”。interested 意为“对……感兴趣”，主语为“人”

常见固定搭配：sth. be interesting 和sb. be interested in sth.

3. from...to... 从...到...

教材原句：Lunch is from 12:00 to 1:00. (p53-2b)
