Section A

1.cause 引起,引发，导致 What caused it?是什么引起它的？在口语中可说成

2.stay up late 熬夜

3.be bad for sb./sth.对某人/某物不好 be good for sb./sth.对某人/某物有好处

Sports are good for our health.运动对健康有好处。

4.动名词短语作主语，谓语动词用单数

Watching too much TV is not good for our health.看太多电视对我们的身体健康是

没有好处的。is not good for=is bad for

Doing morning exercises is good for our body.做早操对我们的身体是有好处的。

5.right after 紧跟着 playing sports right after meals 饭后立即做运动

play sports=have/do sports=do exercise 做运动

Section B

2.must 必须，一定，用于肯定句/疑问句 You must follow the rules.你必须遵循规

则。Must we stay at home?我们一定要待在家里吗？

否定形式为 must not=mustn’t 其意思是禁止, 不许, 不准, 一定不要, 一定不许。

否定句：You mustn’t throw litter about.=Don’t throw litter about.不要乱扔垃圾。

由must（必须、一定要）开头的问句, 不用 mustn’t 来回答，而应用 needn’t 或

don’t have to 来回答。

Eg：Must he clean the room before class? 他一定要在课前打扫教室吗？

肯定回答: Yes, he must. 是的, 一定要。

否定回答: No, he needn’t./ No, he doesn’t have to.不，不必。

3.ask sb. to do sth. 请求某人做某事 ask sb. not to do sth.请求某人不要做某事

Eg：My mother asks me not to go out at night.我妈妈叫我晚上不要外出。

4.give up 放弃

give up sth.（具体某物/具体名称）I want to give up my plan.

give sth.（具体某物/某事名称/代词）up：I want to give my plan/it up.

give up doing sth.放弃做某事 eg:You should give up smoking.

5.be necessary for 对...来说有必要

Sunshine is necessary for our lives.阳光对所有的生物来讲是有必要的。

6.enough:（1）形容词，足够的，充分的，既可以放在名词之前，也可以放在

名词之后。enough+名词=名词+enough

Eg:Do you have enough money/money enough to buy it?你有足够的钱买它吗？
