1.reading a newspaper 看报纸

（1）news（新闻）+ paper （纸） newspaper （报纸）

[U] [U] [C]

E.g. I like reading newspapers every day.

（2）news [U] “新闻，消息”，做主语，谓语动词：单数。

E.g. The news is very important.

（3）paper

① [U] “纸，纸张”，“一张纸”：“a piece of paper”；

[C] “② 试卷，论文”。

E.g. Can you give me a piece of paper?

Please hand in your papers.

2.talking on the phone 通过电话交谈

（1）on the phone“通过电话”，on prep. “通过；以……的方式”。

E.g. Jenny is listening to the news on the radio.

（2）phone

① n.“电话”，同义词：telephone

常见短语：

make a phone 打电话；answer the phone 接电话；phone number 电话号码；phone

book 电话簿

E.g. Can you tell me your phone number?

v.“② 打电话”。phone sb.“给某人打电话”。

E.g. I phone my mother once a week.

3.using the computer 使用电脑

use （1）vt. “使用；运用”，常用结构：use sth.“使用某物”，use sth.to do sth.“用某物做某

事”。

E.g. May I use your phone?

I use a knife to cut bread.

辨析：use 与with

use v. 作谓语，表示用途 I use a pen to write.

with prep. 作状语，表示方式 I write with a pen.

（2） n.“用途；用法”。

E.g. The computer has many uses.

（3）useful adj. “有用的”，可作定语或表语。

E.g. English is useful for you.

That is a useful book.

4.washing the dishes 洗餐具

vt.“洗”

E.g. I often help my mother wash the dishes.

Please wash your face and hands.

5.What are you doing?

what 引导的现在进行时的特殊疑问句，询问：“某人正在做什么”，结构：“What+be+主

语+现在分词?”

E.g.---What is Wang Fang doing?

---She is looking after her mother.

6.I'm watching TV.

现在进行时的陈述句，结构：“主语+be（not）+现在分词+其他”。

E.g. He is swimming in the pool.

They are not watching TV.

练习题：Look, some boys _______ kites in the park.

7.Do you want to go to the movies?

（1）movie（美式） film （英式）

E.g. He is a famous movie star.

The movie is interesting.

He goes to the movies once a week.

（2）“去看电影”：go to the movies ；go to the cinema；go to a movie；go to see a film

8.This is Jenny.

（1）This is XX = This is Jenny speaking

打电话时，this 指自己；that 指对方

（2）“打电话”常用语小结：
