enough to 与 to... to 的用法
1. “... 形容词或副词 + enough （ for sb. ） to do sth. ”结构的意思是“（对某人来说）足够……以至于能做某事”。
The boy is old enough to go to school. 这个男孩够大了，可以去上学了。
The hall is big enough to hold 100 persons. 这个大厅足够大，可以容纳 100 人。
拓展：
（1）enough to 结构和 so…that 结构可以转换。“enough to”结构引导的句子是简单句，而“so…that”引导的
句子是复合句。
The young man is strong enough to carry that heavy box.
这个年轻人够强壮，可以搬动那个重箱子。
The young man is so strong that he can carry that heavy box.
这个年轻人是如此强壮，以至于他能搬动那个重箱子。
（2）enough to 结构和“It is + adj. + of sb. to do sth.” 转换。
She is clever enough to learn all the subject well. 她足够聪明能够学好所有的科目。
It is clever of her to learn all the subjects well. 对她来说学好所有的科目真是聪明。
2. too... to
结构的意思是“太……以至于不能……”，表达一个否定的结果。其中 too
的后面加形容词或副词 。
注意：too...to 引导的是简单句；而 so...that 引导的是复合句。
My little brother is too young to look after himself. 我弟弟太小了不能照顾自己。
too...to
句型可以跟 so...that
句型互换，所以上述的句子还可以改成：
My little brother is so young that he can't look after himself. 我弟弟如此小以至于不能照顾自己。
拓展：当“enough to”结构与“to...to”结构转换时，形容词或副词要作相应的变化，即： enough 前的形容词
或副词与
too
后的形容词或副词互为反义词 ，同时应该改成“not...enough to”的形式。
The work is not easy enough for us to "nish in a week.
= The work is too di$cult for us to "nish in a week.
这项工作对我们来说在一周内完成是不容易的。
3. 在“too…to”和“enough...to”结构中，如果动词不定式和主语构成动宾关系，则动词不定式所在动词后不
能重复用代词。
The problem is too hard for the girl to work out.(√)
The problem is too hard for the girl to work it out.(×) 这道题太难了，这个女孩算不出来。
The gold"sh are easy enough to look after.(√)
The gold"sh are easy enough to look after them.(×) 金鱼足够容易照顾。
