过去进行时

一、过去进行时的概念：过去进行时表示过去正在进行的动作或存在的状态

二、过去进行时的构成： was/were＋动词的现在分词(v-ing)

三、过去进行时的句型结构：

①肯定句：主语＋ was/were＋doing＋其他成分。 I was playing basketball this time yesterday.

②否定句：主语＋ was/were＋not＋doing＋其他成分。 I wasn't playing basketball this' time yesterday.

③一般疑问句及其答语：—Was/Were＋主语＋doing＋其他成分？

—Yes，主语＋was/were. & No，主语＋wasn't/weren't.

—Were you playing basketball this time yesterday? 昨天的这个时候你在打篮球吗？

—Yes，I was. /No，I wasn't. 是的，我在。／不，我不在。

④特殊疑问句：特殊疑问词＋ was/were＋主语＋doing＋其他成分？

What were you doing this time yesterday? 昨天的这个时候你在做什么？

四、过去进行时的用法：

①表示在过去某一时刻正在进行的动作

(just)then，at that time/moment (在那时)，

(at) this time yesterday/last night/Sunday/week…(昨天的那个时候)

at+点钟+yesterday/last night / Sunday… (昨天几点)

when，while 等

Millie was cleaning her bedroom at 8 p.m. yesterday. 昨晚八点钟的时候米莉在打扫她的卧室。

②表示在过去某一阶段内正在进行的动作

We were working on the farm those days. 那些天我们正在农场上劳动。

③表示过去某一动作发生时，另一动作也在同时进行

They were making notes while we were reading. 我们看书的时候他们正在记笔记。

④常与 always 和时间副词连用，表示过去频繁发生的习惯动作

When he worked here, John was always making mistakes. 约翰在这儿工作时总是犯错。

五、过去进行时与一般过去时的比较

①一般过时往往表示某一动作已经完成，而过去进行时却表示动作在持续或未完成。

She wrote a letter to her friend last night. 她昨晚给朋友写了封信。 (信写完了)

She was writing a letter to her friend last night. 她昨晚一直在给朋友写信。 (信不一定写完)

六、通常不能用于过去进行时的动词主要有：

1）表示感觉：see, look, notice, smell, hear, taste…

2）表示情感：love, like, hate, wish, prefer（更喜欢）, fear, want

3）表示存在：be, remain（保持）, exist（存在）

4）表示理解和思维：understand, know, believe, think, forget, doubt

七、when, while 的用法与区别

when while

中文释义当……时候当……时候

词性连词，引导时间状语从句连词，引导时间状语从句

时间类型一点或一段时间一段时间

动作类型延续性动作或短暂性动作延续性动作

时间顺序主从句动作同时或先后发生主从句动作同时发生或主句动作在从句动作中发生

总结：1.when 之后可长亦可短，while 之后只可长；若是两个都为长，while 来把纽带当。

2.when 引导的过去进行时要注意句中两个动作，瞬间动词用的是动词的过去式，延续性动词用的是现在分词形式；

while 在过去进行时中使用时，后面必须是进行时且动词是延续性动词。

I was playing computer games when my mother came home. 妈妈回来的时候，我正在打电脑游戏。

While I was playing computer games, my mother came home. 当我正在大电脑游戏的时候，妈妈到家了。

I was doing my homework while my mother was cooking. 我正在做作业，而妈妈正在做饭。
