I’m Tony. Let me tell you about my summer camp. Last Friday night, I was so excited about going
camping but I didn’t sleep well. I arrived at the camp earlier than anyone else the next morning. Then I
learned how to put up a tent from David. It was very hard work in a hot sun. At noon, everyone was glad to
have a picnic lunch. At 2:00 pm, on the way to the beach, our leader told us some skills we may need for our
lives outdoors, such as how to deal with snakes and wild dogs. My favorite skill was how to tell the time by
looking at the sun. In the evening, we had dinner followed by a drumming lesson. I didn’t take it because I had
to sleep earlier to make up for the night before. I think it was a great experience and I learned a lot.

听独白是目前中考听力测试中常考的一种题型。它既要求同学们掌握材料的主旨大意,也要求能获取有
效的事实细节,并根据材料进行简单的推理。

1.听录音之前,应将所有的题目和选项浏览一遍,大致了解独白内容。这样,听独白时就能做到有的放矢、
有所侧重。
2.注意试题的排列次序。它们可以帮助大家对独白内容的脉络顺序有一个初步的了解。
3.听独白要重视首句。首句常常是主题句,概括了独白的主要内容,或者对下文内容有重要的提示作用。
4.密切注意独白中事件发生的时间(when)、地点(where)、人物(who)和情节(plot)等要素,因为所给问题通常
会以 whatwhenwherewhichwhowhyhow 等疑问词开头。
5.听的过程中要把握主要情节或观点,边听边记,把与问题相关的关键词语和内容用符号或自己看得懂的方
式记录下来。
6.如有听不懂的词语,可记下该词的发音,等听完后再去判断它的词义。听的时候切忌思维在某个词语上滞
留,从而影响后面内容的理解。

An old man lived in the country. He had two sons and one daughter. They were Jim, Bob and Alice. They
left home to make money and became rich soon. This year they came back together on Father’s Day. Each
of them had a gift for their dad.
Jim bought a big and beautiful house for Dad. Bob sent him a car and Alice’s gift was a parrot. The parrot
could speak to Dad. After a big dinner they left. Their dad was very happy.
A few days later, Dad sent them letters of thanks:
“Jim”, he wrote to one son, “the house is so large. I live in only one room, but I have to clean the
whole house.”
“Bob,” he wrote to the other, “I’m too old to travel. I spend most of the time at home, so I don’t use the
