Unit 6 重要知识点（一）

1. keep v. 保持

【考点聚焦】

keep sb. from doing ... 阻止某人做某事

keep sb. from sth…保护…不受侵害

【词语辨析】

(1) keep silent, keep silence

这两个短语意思不能混淆:前者的意思是“不吭声”或“默不作声”,后者的意思是“保持安静”。

(2) keep v-ing, keep (on) v-ing

这两个短语意思相同,在表示每隔一段时间就发生的动作时,一般可互换。其区别仅在于:

1) keep v-ing 中的 v-ing 是分词作表语, keep on v-ing 中的 v-ing 是动名词作宾语。

2) keep v-ing 强调动作的连续性和客观性; 而keep on v-ing 强调动作的重复性或动作执行者的决心,常含有一

定的感情色彩。

3) keep v-ing 还可表示持续不间断的状态或动作,而keep on v-ing 无此用法。

eg: Don't keep on interrupting me! 别老是跟我打岔

(3) keep, hold

这两个词都有“保存,保持”的意思,其区别在于:keep“保存”或“保持”的时间较长,而hold“保存”或“保

持”的时间较短。

翻译句子

1.He was unable to keep silent any longer.

答案：他再也不能保持沉默了

2. I hope you will keep silence while I am away.

答案：我出去后,我希望你安静些。

2. fit adj. 健康的；合适的；恰当的

【考点聚焦】

fit 用作形容词时,其基本含义是“合适的”“适宜的”,指物时表示该物适用于所考虑的用途或要做的工作; 指

人时表示能力或所需的资格; 还可表示在身体、情绪、条件等方面准备就绪。fit 作“健康的”“身体好的”解

时,指因经常锻炼而身体“健康”。fit 引申还可表示“恰当的”“正当的”“得体的”。fit 指能力时,表示学得

的能力,含有被动的意味。

翻译句子

1.他身体不适。

2.他不适合(做某事)。

答案：He wasn't fit.(fit 是形容词)

He didn't fit.(fit 是动词)

3. piece n. 块; 片

【考点聚焦】

(1) piece 作名词的基本意思是“片,块,段,件”,作此解时,可大可小,可以是不完整的碎片,也可以指一件独立完整

的东西。

(2) piece 可用于单位词,常用于 a piece of 短语中,其后只接不可数名词。

解时常用复数形式,“一副眼镜”要说 a pair of glasses。
