The first part of Chapman’s book,The Girl with No Name, came out yesterday in a
newspaper.
Marina Chapman,a grandmother who was born in Colombia in the 1950s,says that she
spent five years living with monkeys in the northeast of the country when she was very young
by accident.A group of monkeys discovered her lying al one in the forest. They soon began
looking after me, she says. Some fought off animals who wanted to eat me;others taught me
how to live in the forest.
Later she learned to communicate with the monkeys.Mrs Chapman says,The monkey
made noises to communicate. So I practiced the sound that they made,at first just for fun.But
soon I realized a monkey or several would respond(回应)sometimes.
Different people have different ideas about it.
I don’t believe monkeys would hurt a child,but I don’t think they would help a child live
in a forest, Morris,a scientist,says.
Monkeys and humans are similar in some ways,so some parts of the story might be true,
says Majolo,a university teacher. But I don’t think monkeys can teach humans.
Is it true? That’s for you to decide. But Chapman isn’t a bad woman. She says all the money
she gets from the book will be given to a charity(慈善机构)that helps homeless children.

Most of us know that we should not use mobile phones while walking because
we may put ourselves in danger.
A team of researchers from the UK found that people who use their phones
while walking walk differently than usual.Recently, a person in front of me was
walking very slowly and weaving, and I thought,Is this person drunk()?’”
said Matthew Timmis. In fact, the person was just playing with the phone.
