第一课时 Welcome to the unit

1. Eddie, aren't you getting bored with staying at home all day?

① bored adj.无聊的 (侧重人的感受)

boring adj.乏味的(侧重事物的特性)

get / be / feel bored with sth.讨厌某物 Eg. What are you bored with? 你讨厌什么?

get bored with doing 厌倦做某事 (与 be tired of 意思相近)

Eg. The children quickly got bored with staying indoors. 孩子们在屋子里很快就呆不住了。

bore v. 使厌烦

② 在英语中既能作行为动词又能作连系动词的有

变化类的: make; become; get; turn; grow; go; come; fall

静止类的: stay; keep; appear; prove; turn out; remain

感官类的:feel; taste; smell; look; sound

★连系动词无被动语态, 静止类和感官类系动词无进行时和完成时

2. A dog's work is never done.

① done adj. 完毕,结束 (分词形容词)

Eg. When you are done, perhaps I can say something.等你说完,也许我可以说点什么。(这里 be done 是be + adj.

不是被动)

be done = be finished

Eg. The sandwiches are finished. = The sandwiches are done. 三明治做好了。

② be done with…做完某事,结束某事 Eg. If you are done with the magazine, can I have a look at it? 如果你看完

那本杂志, 给我看看行吗

3. There are always famous people on these shows talking about their lives.

There be 句式中非谓语动词作定语的情况:

① There be sb. doing sth 有人在做某事 (后置定语,强调在做,逻辑上主谓关系,表示主动)

Eg. There is a dog lying on the floor.

② There be sth. to do. 有事要做 (There be 结构中, to do 为后置定语,强调未做,逻辑上有动宾关系,但是不用被

动语态)

Eg. There is a lot of homework to finish.

There is no chance to visit the Great Wall

③ There is some money left. (left 作定语,表示被动或完成)

Tom and Jerry is my favourite, though there's not much dialogue in it.

dialogue un. (书、戏剧或电影中的) 对话,对白

Eg. The novel has long descriptions and not much dialogue. 这部小说描述多对话少。

② dialogue cn. (供语言学习者学习的)对话

Eg. In English lessons, our teacher often asks us to make up dialogues in pairs. 英语课上, 老师经常叫我们两人一

组编对话。

第二课时 Reading I

The programme covers different sports, such as swimming, basketball…

① cover vt. 报道,电视报道 Eg. CCTV5 will cover all the games of Wimbledon Open 中央 5台将报道温布尔登

网球公开赛的所有比赛。

② cover vt. 覆盖;包括

Eg. The reserve covers an area of 4,530 square kilometers. 这个保护区覆盖了 4530 平方公里的面积。

His study covers a wide field. 他的研究涉及范围很广。

be covered with / in… 被……覆盖

③ cover n. 封面;盖子;罩;庇护所 Eg. the front cover 封面

2. This year's Beijing Music Awards will be covered live this Saturday

① live adv. 现场直播,实况转播 Eg. cover sth. live — Sth. be covered live

② ★ live adj. 现场直播的 Eg. a live match 一场直播的比赛

③ live vi.&vt. 居住,生活,活着 Eg. live on... 以食……为生

★ live 作动词时与形容词、副词读音不同

④ alive adj. 活着的 (表语形容词,不可以作前置定语)

Eg. After the earthquake, he found he was still alive.

bring dinosaurs alive on screen (作宾语补足语)

⑤ living adj. 活着的,活的 Eg. living languages 现在仍在使用的语言

⑥ living n. 生存,生计 Eg. make a living 谋生

⑦ lively adj. 生气勃勃的,活泼的 Eg. make his class lively 使他的课生动

① direct vt. 导演,指导

主动结构 direct sth. Eg. direct a drama 导演一部话剧

被动结构 be directed by sb. Eg. The movie was directed by Steven Spielberg.

后置定语 Eg. the film directed by him 他导演的电影

② director n. 导演

③ direction n.方向 Eg. run in all directions / a sense of direction

4. It is recorded first and sent out later.

① record vt. 录制, 录(像), 录(音)

Eg. record the programme 录制节目

② record vt. 记录 Eg. record their types and changes in their numbers 记录它们在种类和数量上的变化

③ record n. 纪录 Eg. break the record 打破纪录 keep the record 保持纪录 set a record 创纪录

★ record 作动词和名词读音不同

第三课时 ReadingⅡ

1. There are a number of interviews with famous players.

① a number of/ numbers of 一些 (只修饰名词的复数形式,作主语时看作复数)

Eg. There are a number of interviews with those famous players.

② a large number of 许多,大量; a growing number of 越来越多的

③ the number of. ……的数量 (只修饰名词的复数形式,作主语时看作单数; 常用 big / large / small 修饰)

Eg. The number of the giant pandas is getting smaller and smaller.

④ 问数量用 What' s the number of…?

2. Write down your answers and send text messages to 1396 while…

① message cn. 消息,音信 (口头传递或书写的消息)

send text messages to… 向……发送短信

take a message (for) 传个话, 捎个口信

leave a message 留言

② news un. 新闻,消息 (常指通过新闻媒体发布的社会各方面的最新消息,侧重一个“新”字)

a news report 新闻报道

Eg. No news is good news. 没有消息就是好消息。
