知识点讲解：
1. Why don’t dogs go to school, Eddie? 狗为什么不去上学， 艾迪？
“Why don’t/doesn’t /didn’t + 主语+ 动词原形+其他”，意为“为什不；为何
不”，通常表示建议或责备。其中“Why don’t you+ 动词原形+其他”，可以
用 “Why not + 动词 原形 +其他？，其他表 示建议的句型 还 有 ： What/How
about....? Let’s....... Shall we......?
例题：（1）Why_______ come and play football with us?

（2）It’s raining . Why not _______（ask）your friends for help when you are in
trouble ?
2. It’s like watching TV, but there are fewer advertisements. 它就像看电视，但是广
告更少一些。
fewer 是few 的比较级形式，意为“较少的”，修饰可数名词复数形式
few 和 a few 修饰可数名词复数，其中 few 意为“很少，几乎没有的”，表示否
定意义；
而a few 意为“少数的，几个”，表示肯定意义。
little 和 a little 修饰不可数名词，其中 little 意为“几乎没有的”，表示否定意
义；
而a little 意为“少量，一点儿”，表示肯定意义。
例题：（1）I have ________ friends in this school , but ______ are good friends .
There is _______ milk in the fridge , we should buy some in the supermarket .
（2）There is _______ water , but there are quite ________ empty glasses .

3.During the week , we can borrow more books from the school library . 在这一周里，
我们可以从学校图书馆借更多的书。
borrow 及物动词“借入”，常用短语 borrow sth from sb ：向某人借某物
lend：“借出”，lend sb sth= lend sth to sb 借给某人某物
keep sth for +时间段：借某物一段时间

4. Near the end of the week, we discuss the books with our classmates in class. 在这

near the end of.... 意为“在....快要结束时”，此短语中 end 是名词，关于 end 的
常用短语还有：
at the end of....：在....结束的时候；既可以指时间的重点，也可指某个地点的尽
头。
by the end of...：到....末尾为止，强调“最后的时限”
in the end: “最后，终于”，单独使用，位置比较灵活就，相当于 at last /finally
例题：（1）We will have a final exam ________ the term.

（2）___________, I found the small shop ____________ the street.
我终于在大街的尽头找到了那家小店。
discuss 意为“讨论，议论”，为及物动词，后可直接加宾语，无需加 about。
常用短语 discuss sth with sb 与某人讨论某事
discussion n. have a discussion about sth with sb
翻译：午饭后我们要讨论那个问题。_____________________________________

5. Time seems to go faster when we are reading interesting books. 当我们阅读有趣
的书籍时，时间似乎过得更快。
句中 seem 是动词，意为“似乎，好像，看起来”，主要句型如下：
seem+（to be ）+ adj/n 似乎...... seem to do sth 好像做某事
It seems + that 从句 There seems to be..... 似乎有.....
例题：（1）He_______ after he chatted with his parents online.

（2）Nobody seems to know what happened just now in the park. （改为同义句）

spend，take，cost，pay 辨析
spend 的主语必须是人，常用于 （1）sb spend time/money on sth （2）sb spend
time/money （in）doing sth
take 主要用于指花费时间，主语是物，常用句型：It takes sb some time to do sth ,
此句型中，it 是形式主语，真正的主语是后面的动词不定式
cost 的主语只能是物，常用句型：sth cost (sb) some money
pay 主要指花费金钱，主语是人，常与介词 for 连用，句型为：Sb pay some
money for sth
