Title 7BUnit 8Welcome to the unit

Teaching objectives:

1. Knowledge objectives:

Learn some names of animals and their appearances and lifestyles.

2. Ability objectives:

To retell the passage.

(1)To know the names of some pets and their characters and lifestyles.

(2)To learn to introduce the pets.

3. Value objectives：

To Arouse the students’ interests in talking about animals.

Teaching key points and difficult points:

1. Phrases: bring me something to eat, want a new pet, swim around ，sleep on my knees, hold it in my hand, feed her

carrots, play with, teach him to speak …

2. Structures: How rude you are! You should say “ Please”.

I like watching them swim around. I want to teach him to speak

Step1: Warm –up

Questions: 1. Do you like animals?

2. What animals do you know?

3. What animal do you want to keep as a pet?

Step2: Comic Strip

Task 1:

Read the dialogue and talk about the question: Is Hobo a good pet for Eddie?

Listen to the dialogue and answer some questions

1. What does Eddie want?

2. What does Hobo tell him?

Task 2: Read the dialogue and then dubbing(配音) for Eddie and Hobo.

Comic 部分较简单，主要通过听、

说引导引发学生进一步学习宠物有

关的欲望。

Step3: Welcome to the unit

Task1: Enjoy some pictures of the animals say something about different

animals.

Task 2: Talk about six animals in part A one by one.

1. Guess what the animal is!

2. What can you do with the dog/…?

Task3: Finish part B:

1. Match the reasons with the animals.

2. Finish the sentences together.

Task 4: Pair work

A: Which pet do you like best?

Step4: Enjoy some idioms:

words.

4. Listen to the poem and try to find the poem rhyme.

goldfish.
