Point 1 Mary wants to know what he thinks of the trip. 玛丽想知道他对这次旅行的看法。
（1）这是一个复合句，主句的主语是 Mary，谓语部分为 wants to know。在宾语从句中，要用陈述语
序，其中特殊疑问词(词组)仍在句首，位置不变；另外，一般情况下，宾语从句的时态要由主句时态来定。
Did he tell you where he went last night? 他告诉你昨晚他去哪儿了吗？
【典例】—David, look at the man in black over there. Can you tell me __________________?
—He is an engineer.

【答案】 C
【解析】由答语＂他是一名工程师。＂可知问句是对职业提问，应用疑问词 what；宾语从句应用陈述语序。
（2）think of 意为＂认为，想起，想出＂。What do you think of...? 可与 How do you like...? 替换。
What do you think of comedies?
＝How do you like comedies? 你认为喜剧怎么样？
I thought of you when I saw this gift.当我看到这个礼物时，我就想起了你。

Point 2 Crossing the River to School 过河去上学 cross /krɒs/ v.横过，越过
cross 的名词形式为 crossing＂十字路口＂，介词形式为 across＂穿过＂。
Please be careful when you cross the road.当你过马路时请当心。
Turn left at the second crossing.在第二个十字路口向左拐。

across 介词，副词，着重指从物体表面的
一边到另一边
Let’s go across the road now.现在咱们

through 介词，副词，着重指从空间一头纵
穿到另一头
Go through the tunnel.穿过隧道。

ride a bike 中的 ride 是＂骑＂(自行车、马等)，此外，我们还可以说，bus ride, ride the bus (=take the
bus),其中 bus ride 是名词词组，表示＂坐公交车＂这件事。

Point 4.For many students,it is easy to get to school. 对许多学生来说，到校是容易的。
（1）for 作介词，表示对象，意为＂就……而言；对于＂。
For the kids, the weekend was interesting.
对孩子们来说，这个周末是有趣的。
（2）many /'meni/ adj.& pron.许多
【辨析】many 与much
many 修饰可数名词复数。 There are many flowers in the park.
公园里有许多花。
much 修饰不可数名词。 There is much pollution in Shijiazhuang.
石家庄污染很严重。
（3）本句为＂It is＋adj.＋(of/for sb.) to＋do sth.＂结构，意为：＂(某人/对某人来说)做某事是……的。
＂其中 it 作形式主语，后面的动词不定式短语 to do sth. 是句子真正的主语。英语中，当动词不定式短语或
动名词作主语时，谓语动词通常用单数形式。且动词不定式作主语时，常用 it 作形式主语，将动词不定式
放在后面。
It is easy to get to school.＝To get to school is easy.到校是容易的。
The girl is too young. It’s difficult for her to dress.那女孩太小了。对她来说，穿衣服很难做到。
It is good for us to exercise.我们锻炼有好处。
It’s difficult for us to answer you.我们很难回答你。
【典例】It is important __________________ us to make full use of time.

【辨析】It’s adj.＋for/of sb. to do sth.句型中的 for 和of
