October 16th was named officially by the UN in 1981 as World Food Day. It aims to raise
people’s awareness of saving food. Why should we attach great importance to saving food?
There is no denying that it takes a lot of efforts to produce food. Thus, we need to value the
work of others by not wasting any, which is the social responsibility all of us have to take.
Besides, saving food serves as a reminder to keep us aware that there are still many people
suffering from starvation on this planet, so, as the privileged ones, it would be shameful if we take
food or our good life for granted.
Thus，I’d like to make a sincere appeal that every single one should be aware of our duty
to cherish food. If every one makes a contribution, the world will be a better place to live in.

M: When I think about what my favorite type of music is, I always consider what the time is as
well. It seems like my music choices change depending on the season. For example, (17)in the
winter time, I listen to a lot more jazz, but in the summer, I prefer rock ’n’ roll. Sometimes
certain songs bring up a memory. It is hard not to wonder if the song was playing during the event
I am remembering or if the song just reminds me of that time. I even find myself listening to
sadder songs when it is cold or during rainstorms! (18)But music is more than just
entertainment. It is a tool!
There have been many studies based on music and how it can affect our emotions. In one of those
studies, people were experimented with stress levels while listening to music. By playing
different styles, the scientists were able to pick out which types of music were the best for staying
calm. (19)They concluded that classical music helps change the brain and lowers the heart
rate. Not only did this experiment work on people, but they tried it with animals too and it
