Section A
Directions: After reading the passages below, fill in the blanks to make the passages
coherent and grammatically correct. For the blanks with a given word, fill in each blank
with the proper form of the given word; for the other blanks, use one word that best fits
each blank.
Honesty, my mum always used to tell me, is the best policy. But when it comes to m
edicine, I had assumed it was important to always be honest with my patients. After all, th
e doctor-patient relationship is based on trust, and therefore honesty is essential, or so I t
hought.
I had just started working in geriatrics (老年病科). Mr. McMahon (21)________(bring) i
