专题 02 连词

连词（这部分不是像语法书上给出一系列语法知识点，而是结合考题直接整理常考的考点以及例子）

1．and but

（1）并列一样的成分：动词对应动词，名词对应名词，非谓语对应非谓语，句子对应句子等。

eg. You will meet your schedule, _____she might meet her end.

In much of Asia, especially the so-called “rice bowl” cultures of China, Japan,Korea,____ Vietnam, food is

usually eaten with chopsticks.

The peasants had to pay heavy taxes and____(suffer) greatly from hunger.

(2)祈使句+and+将来时态陈述句，相当于 if 从句。

eg. Work hard___you will succeed.

(3)but 用在 I’m sorry but….和excuse me but 结构中

eg. I am sorry____but I won’t be able to tonight.

(4)表示并列关系的 both.. and…,not….but 不是...而是…,not only….but also….。

eg. This is not who said the words, ___whether they are true or not.

He spoke with both kindness _____understanding.

2. or nor

(1)表选择

Eg. Are you going to America by air __by boat?

(2)祈使句+or+将来时态陈述句,相当于 if not 从句。

Eg. Hurry up, __you will be late.

(3) 表示并列关系的 either…or..,neither…nor…..whether…or not…

Eg. Neither Tom _____Helen is hardworking.

3. so for 表示因果关系。

Eg. It must have rained last night, ____the ground is wet.

The door were closed,___I did not get any milk.

4. when 表示突然，相当于 at that time,

常用句型 sb was doing sth. when…. 某人正在..突然....

sb. was about to do sth. when…..某人即将..突然..

sb had just done sth when….某人已经..突然....
