The West Lake Cultural Landscape of Hangzhou, which comprises the West Lake and the hills

surrounding its three sides, was inscribed on UNESCO's World Heritage List in June 2011.

Ten years later, the inscribed landscape not only continues to inspire famous poets, scholars, and artists

since the 9th century, but it also serves as a model for seeking a harmonious balance between urban

development and heritage preservation.

As one of the most famous tourist attractions in Hangzhou, West Lake offers visitors different

highlights depending on the season, which are also known as the Ten Scenes of West Lake, which includes:

Su Causeway; Breeze-Ruffled Lotuses at Quyuan Garden; Lingering Snow on Broken Bridge, which can

be enjoyed all year round; Leifeng Pagoda at dusk; and Three Pools Mirror the Moon, which, as the name

suggests, should be visited at sunset or on moonlit nights.

Some places can be visited at any time regardless of seasonal or weather conditions, including Orioles

Singing in the Willows, Twin Peaks Piercing the Clouds, and Evening Bell Ringing on Nanping Hill.

They are all linked by tree-lined boulevards, causeways or hiker-friendly trails so they can be covered

on foot or a free public bike. In addition, comfortable electric carts or cruise boats are also available.

MOSCOW - China is a truly strategic partner of Russia and a like-minded country, and their mutually

trusting and respectful dialogue should serve as an example to other countries, Russian Foreign Minister

Sergei Lavrov has said.

"Current Russia-China relations are assessed both by our national leaders and citizens as the best in

their entire history. This is a well-deserved and fair assessment," Lavrov told Xinhua and several other

media outlets in an online interview ahead of his visit to China on Monday and Tuesday.

"Russia-China relations are marked by comprehensive partnership and strategic coordination, which

have entered a new era," the top Russian diplomat said.

In his view, to a large extent, the bilateral ties have reached such an unprecedented level thanks to the

China-Russia Treaty of Good-neighborliness and Friendly Cooperation signed in July 2001.

As this year marks the 20th anniversary of the signing of the treaty, Lavrov praised "dynamic"

cooperation between Russia and China over the past two decades and called the pact a "historic" document,

which has laid the political and legal foundations for a new type of relationship between the two countries.

"The model of interaction between Russia and China is absolutely free from any ideological constraints.
