Vatican City
Attractions of Vatican City include the Vatican Museums, St. Peter’s Basilica and the Sistine Chapel, making
this area so immense and crowded. And there is a strict dress code in Vatican City: No shorts, short skirts,
sleeveless tops. This means knees and upper arms to be covered. Short-or long-sleeved dresses that fall below the
knee and pants with a T-shirt are ideal.

St Peter’s Basilica
The center of Roman Catholicism, St. Peter’s Basilica is located in the heart of Vatican City and known for its
amazing architecture. Many visitors enjoy climbing to the top of the dome ( 圆 顶 ) and appreciate Rome’s
spectacular landscape.
Hours: 7 a. m.-7 p. m. daily

Colosseum
The site of many bloody fights, the Colosseum, which was opened in A. D.80, could then hold about 50,000
spectators. Not only were gladiators (角斗士) pitted against each other, but gladiators fighting animals and animal-
on-animal fights were common as well. Today, it’s considered one of the world’s most famous landmarks.

Trevi Fountain
A must-see on many travelers’ plans, the Trevi Fountain, is situated amongst a high concentration of hotels,
shopping and nightlife in the Trevi district. Finished in the mid-1700s, it is a place with a distinct mythological
character. According to Roman legend, throwing a coin into the Trevi, with your right hand over your left shoulder
ensures you’ll return to Rome. This site is best viewed at night when lights illuminate the fountain.
