Hi Sue,
I hope this email finds you well. I wanted to share a story from my “office” at the bottom of the sea to cheer
you up.
As a commercial diver performing underwater repairs, I wear a wet suit to work. To stay warm in the cool
water, we use an oil-powered industrial water heater that pumps warm water through a hose (软管) taped to the air
hose. I stick the hose down the back of my wet suit, which makes it feel like working comfortably.
Last week, everything was going smoothly until I started to itch (发痒). I scratched it, but that only made
things worse. Within seconds, my butt (屁股) started to burn. I pulled out the hose and realized that the hot water
machine had sucked up a jellyfish (水母) and pumped it directly into my suit.
The jellyfish couldn’t stick to my hairless back, but it did stick to the crack of my butt. When I scratched the
itch, I was actually grinding the jellyfish and its poisonous tentacles (触须) into my skin.
I informed the dive supervisor over the communicator, but he and the other divers were laughing too hard to
