Don’t like getting out of the shower on cold mornings? Are you feeling that cold wind when working or trying
to relax?
The biggest issue that people have is the fact that most old-fashioned heaters are big, cost a lot to run and
waste energy. Luckily, a company has recently just developed a product which saves a ton of power during its
operation and is, above all, smart and easy to use! It’s called HotixPro and it’s a very small, powerful heater that
consumes much less energy than regular heaters.
How Does HotixPro Work?
The ceramic element (陶瓷零件) stays warm 30% longer, so it doesn’t have to use much power to reheat over
and over again. The fan inside HotixPro then sucks the air out through the hot ceramic element and distributes it
evenly throughout the room! It can heat a room up to 250 square feet and make it warmer in a few minutes, for just
pennies.
What Makes It So Special?
One of the amazing features it has is the programmable timer. You can program it and warm up your bathroom
before you wake up. Also, its remote controller makes it very easy to adjust the temperature. The company also
kept safety in mind in the creation process——they added a sensor which makes HotixPro stop completely if it
becomes too hot.
Is It Worth It?
Don’t let your quality of life continue to suffer. Save on expensive energy costs and keep warm during the
winter anywhere! Purchase HotixPro at half price with free worldwide shipping!
1. What is the main advantage of HotixPro?
A. It is delicate. B. It is efficient. C. It is big. D. It is free of charge.
2. How does HotixPro make a room warm?

B. By storing the heat inside its big body.
C
.
By heating the ceramic element again and again.
D. By taking in cold air and giving off warm air.
3. What is a programmable timer used for?

D. Turning off HotixPro when the room is too hot.

The Andler Hillclimb is an annual dirt bike competition that has dirt bikers from around Europe try, to reach
the top of a dangerous hillside course in Belgium. It’s been held every year for the last two decades, but so far, no
one has been able to reach the top.
The so-called “impossible climb” starts out as rough gravel and then switches over to a rough uneven cliff (
) face designed to throw riders off and roll them and their bikes back down to the base of the hill. It’s not the
angle of the course that is the problem, according to most riders, but the sudden change of ride surface that makes
keeping control of the bike and reaching the top so hard. Some fly off their bike early during the climb. While
others get painfully close to the finish line, yet in the end they all succumb to the power of gravity (重力) before
reaching their goal.
Despite gathering the most talented dirt bikers in Europe at the start line every year, the Andler Hillclimb has
so far remained unconquered. The closest one to success was a Suzuki bike rider who once reportedly crossed the
finish line with the front wheel before rolling back down the slope like the rest of the competitors. Sadly, his
achievement didn’t count as a valid climb, as the entire bike and its rider must make it to the top of the hill.
With so many riders having failed to conquer the Andler Hillclimb over the last 20 years, why are people still
trying every year? Why not just call the climb impossible and stop it? Well, maybe it has something to do with the
bragging rights (胜者为王)? Can you imagine what it would be like to be the very first dirt biker to reach the top of
this famous hill?
In case you want to try your luck, or if you simply want to see the hill make fools of dozens of daredevils (
干者), this years event is scheduled for August.

Although we live in an era where everything seems to be available immediately, our study suggests that
today’s kids can delay gratification(满足感) longer than children in the 1960s and 1980s,“ said University of
Minnesota psychologist Stephanie M. Carlson.” This finding stands in great contrast with the assumption by adults
that today’s children have less self-control than previous generations.
The original marshmallow(棉花糖) test conducted by researchers at Stanford University involved a series of
experiments in which children aged between 3 and 5 years were offered one treat that they could eat immediately or
a larger treat if they waited. Researchers then left the room to see how long the children would wait and watched
from behind a one-way mirror.
Interestingly
,
today's adults thought that children nowadays would be more impulsive and less able to
wait, Carlson found. "Our findings serve as an example of how our beliefs can be wrong and how it's important to
do research,” said co-author Yuichi Shoda, PhD at the University of Washington.
