Kenya Volunteer Program Schedule
Kenya volunteer jobs are available in the cities of Nairobi, Mombasa and Kisumu. More volunteer destinations
are available with special arrangements. You can volunteer for any duration and stay as long as you wish. You can
arrive at any time and the volunteer work starts the following day. You will typically work between 9 a. m.—4 p. m.
from Monday to Friday. You will spend your spare time shopping or eating out. You can also go diving and surfing or
simply take a day out to the giraffe centre in Nairobi.
Kenya Volunteer Program Is Open to
We invite individuals, couples, families, students, researchers, and groups. Our programs are flexible and
volunteers can arrive and depart on any day all year round.
About the Costs
No refunds will be paid to any volunteers who have arrived in the country and started on their program due to
program change, early departures etc. The Kenya program fee covers communication, airport pickup, local support,
training, accommodation and two meals per day.
The costs that volunteers in Kenya need to pay are: your flight to and from the country, visa fees, work permits,
travel insurance, in-country transport and return trip to the airport.

new people and make lifelong friendships with fellow volunteers from around the world. You will also travel outside

Rifath Shaarook was 14 when he met Srimathy Kesan, the founder and CEO of Space Kids India （SKI）, as a
student journalist. What began as a one-off interview soon transformed into the coming together of two minds. The
teenager held the idea of sending a student satellite to space. While other grown-ups were quick to dismiss it, Kesan
was different. She had laid the foundation for SKI, a private organization committed to promoting innovation among
children, particularly in aerospace. She saw potential in Rifath and his idea.
Two other students soon joined Rifath. The two 17-year-olds were in Hindustan University studying aerospace
engineering. They chanced upon a notice on their college noticeboard that changed their life. It was about a workshop
organized by Space Kids India at the NASA headquarters.
The first project was the SKI-NSLV Kalam 1, a balloon satellite, launched near space to gather data on air
quality, altitude, gases and so on. After a two-year-long struggle, Space Kids successfully launched the vehicle, a first
