On behalf of the president of the Chinese folk music club of our school, I am honored to
deliver my speech at the annual general meeting. Our club is aimed at helping students to learn
more folk music art form and enrich our school life.
In the one years since the club was founded, we have organized a variety of activities, such as the
New Year Music Festival, Chinese traditional culture exchange conference and other colorful
performances. All the club members participated actively and had a good performance.
I hope to attract more new members to join our club in the future, which will strengthen our club
strength.

67 In confusion, I ended up hanging up the phone without a word. Our once intimate friendship
soured, and we became strangers to each other. However, memories of our beautiful moments
together flooded my mind, reminding me of the dreams we shared and the successes we celebrated.
I realized so close were we that I should be proud of Hannah’s achievements, regardless of what had
happened. With this epiphany, I decided to mend our friendship and not let jealousy and
disappointment cloud my judgment. I mustn’t allow competition to ruin our precious bond.
Determined, I took a step towards reconciliation.
On the day of the performance, I took up the courage to attend Hannah’s play. As I watched
her shine on stage, my heart swelled with admiration and pride. It became clear to me that Hannah
truly deserved the leading role. After the play, I approached Hannah backstage, my heart pounding
with nervousness. To my relief, her face lit up with surprise at the sight of me. Without hesitation, I
congratulated her on her outstanding performance and sincerely apologized for my previous
behavior. The tension that once filled the air between us dissipated, replaced by forgiveness and
understanding. Even the strongest friendship can face challenges. However, with love any
friendship can weather the storm and emerge even stronger in the end.

at home, but I spend summer evenings dancing in the park.
