One possible version:
My First Experience in Career
Last month, I had the privilege of participating in our school's initiative, “My First Experience in Career.” It
aimed to provide students like me with a glimpse into diverse professions.
My journey began at a local hospital, where I shadowed as a diligent nurse for a day. Witnessing her interactions
with patients, meticulous care, and swift decision-making, I gained a deeper understanding of the immense
responsibility and compassion required in this noble profession. It was an eye-opening experience that left me
grateful for the healthcare workers who tirelessly save lives.
This practical experience transformed me, increasing my knowledge and igniting ambition. I'm thankful to
our school for organizing such a meaningful program and excited for future opportunities.
One possible version:
Paragraph 1: I remembered my little
first-aid
kit. Grabbing my package
in no time,
I stormed into the
hall
where I saw
Emily
sitting
on
the
floor, her
face
contorted in pain, her
arm
reddened and
swollen.
Kneeling beside her and gently unwrapping the
first-aid kit,
I
quickly yet carefully cleaned the burned area with
the
antiseptic cream, applied
a gauze pad to the burn,
and
secured it with
a bandage.
Emily's
eyes were
filled with tears, but she still managed
a grateful nod.
“Thank you,”
she whispered, her voice hoarse. “It's
okay,” I
reassured her.
Soon, many
of the other girls heard
of my
little kit and
paid
me a
visit for various
needs. The
little gift
I had questioned now
led me toward new
friendships. As
it broke diseases,
it also broke
the ice, allowing me to meet and befriend many in the dorm.
Paragraph 2: Years later, I received
a party invitation from
a young friend who was graduating
from
high school.
Eager as I was to attend her party,
I was at
a loss what
gift to prepare. Then like a bolt out
of the blue, memories of my
own party rushed
back to me, and I smiled
at the opportunity presenting itself.
As I drove to the pharmacy, I knew
exactly what gift I would give her: a first-aid kit. When I arrived at her
party with
the very gift for her, her eyes widened
in
surprise at it, exactly
as what I
did years
ago.
I smiled and
explained the depth and meaning behind my choice. It was not just a first-aid kit but a chance to be a friend.
Knowing the whole story, she took it and winked at me, “Yes, it is bandage for bond” .
Text 1
W: How is the weather today?
M: It's beautiful. The sun is shining. It's nice and warm. (1)
W: It's much better than the cloudy day yesterday, isn'tit?
M: Yes, although the wind will probably pickup later.
Text 2
W:
Peter,
I've just had
a call
from Jack.
He is ill
and won't be
at work
today, so
could you
make
his
Monday calls to the customers? (2)
M: But I'm busy. Can't Gary do it?
W: Gary's going to be late. His car broke down.
Text 3
M:
Excuse
me. I'm
looking for
chocolate-chip cookies.
I can't find them in
the dessert row
or
the candy
section.
W: That's because they're in the baking section. Go to the
front of the store and turn right. You'll
see the
baking area in front of you. (3)
Text 4
W: Did you go anywhere during the winter holiday?
M:
Yes.
I went back
to my hometown
with my
father. I was brought up
there
and
didn't
leave until
I was
six. But it has changed a lot. I could hardly tell where anything was after twenty years. (4)
Text 5
W: I was rushing to feed the horses this morning when I tripped over a big root in the woods. I fell and cut my
knee quite badly. (5)
M: I did something similar. I
slipped over on the ice and hurt my left arm during the winter.
Text 6
M: Have you heard the news?
