Dear Alan,
I'm delighted to share with you one of my favorite ancient Chinese poets: Li Shangyin. His
works are not only a treasure in Chinese literature but also a profound reflection on life and
emotions.
Li Shangyin, a poet from the Tang Dynasty, is celebrated for his intricate and emotive
verses that often delve into themes of love, politics, and the ephemeral nature of existence. His
poetry is marked by a deep sense of melancholy and a yearning for a bygone era, which reso
nates with readers across the ages. The feelings his works evoke in me are a blend of admiration
for his artistry and empathy for his personal tribulations. His verses, such as "The End of the
Tang" and "The Night Mooring by Maple Bridge," offer a window into the soul of a man who
lived through tumultuous times, yet found solace in the beauty of words.
In conclusion, Li Shangyin's poetry is a testament to the enduring power of the written
word. It's a legacy that continues to inspire and move hearts, a true gem in the annals of Chi
nese literature.
Yours,
Li Hua

英语答案第24
Dear Alan,
It's great to hear from you. And I feel very proud knowing your interest in the classical
Chinese poetry.
Personally, I do like Li Bai, a typical romantic poet from the Tang dynasty and crowned as
Fairy Poet. Believe it or not, he has left us nearly 1,000 compositions, many of which still en
joy great popularity today including his Quiet Night Thoughts. Head up, I watch the moon;
Head down, I think of home? So vivid are the descriptions that I can't help picturing the scene
in my mind. While reading. his magnificent masterpieces, I usually feel free, energetic and confi
dent or sad, lonely and isolated. To be frank, it is the emotions presented in his poems that
touch me most.
Interested in him? Want some books of him? Just let me know. Best wishes!
Yours,
Li Hua

Then Rogers had another idea. After a brief exchange of his plan, Rogers carried Linden on
his back and began the trek to the trailhead. Despite being greatly mover Linden was still
racked with the awful pain intensifying in every step he took an she murmured, "I can't feel
my feet. " Hearing this, Rogers quickened his pace. Within minutes, the rough trail and the
unbearable heat, combined with the weight on his back, started to make his steps wobble. But he
even managed t crack several jokes to distract Linden. Before long, they were met with a con
cerned medical group waiting for their arrival.
It was after the operation that Linden found Rogers gone. According to her: left after mak
ing sure "she's in good hands". Just then, she felt her body flush warn and there was some
thing of the selfless stranger that made her heart reach out. Sh put down her feelings on Face
book and the story became a hit soon in local media. With the help of a journalist, they met
again in the Red Rocks. They talked just like of friends, covering almost every corner of the
trails. The rest of the story was known to us all: the cyclist and the jogger lived happily ever af
ter.
Then Rogers had another idea. Since Linden could not bear her pain, Rogers left his bike
where he found Linden and tried to carry Linden on his back. It was not easy though. The
trails was slippery and dangerous. Rogers had to be very careful to avoid slipping. With great ef⁃
fort, Rogers tried to send Linden to hospital as quickly as possible. Finally, it was after the sun
was set that they at last arrived in the hospital safely.
It was after the operation that Linden found Rogers gone. Thanks to Rogers, she was sent
here in time and the operation was very successful. Linden asked nurses where Rogers was, but
they had no idea where he was. Thinkig of her suffering back in the trailhead and Rogers
kind help, Linden really wanted to find Rogers and expressed her sincere gratitude to him. After
two months, she recovered and continued her jogging down Adobe Jack Trail in Sedona. There,
she happened to find Rogers on the same trail.
