We are very grateful for your concerns about the flood which hit our village last week.

Oliver stood still to the ground and could not believe his ears. Trembling and sobbing, he collapsed

on the ground, feeling alone and betrayed. He had no choice but to cry all the way back home. Seeing his

him whenever he felt down. Stroking her trembling boy, the mother said gently, “Just be yourself, Son!

Working more than 25 hours a week could be negatively affecting the intelligence of employees over

age 40, according to a study conducted on more than 6,000 workers by the researchers in Australia. They

said that working 25 hours a week was the ideal amount of time for brain functioning. The researchers

believe that our “fluid intelligence”, or how well we process information, begins its decline around the

age of 20, while the ability to use knowledge and experience, goes down around age 30. By the time we

turn 40, our performance in memory tests and pattern recognition exercises tends to decline. The

researchers have also looked into the effect of care-taking on brain functioning in middle age. By age 40,

many employees are also taking care of children or a parent or both, creating a job on top of a job. This

life style would cause a lot of pressure and less sleep, which definitely is a negative factor for our brain

functioning. The study noted that the effect of excessive work hours affected both genders equally.
